Default Washing after waxing

Okay, I think I have the basics down of the typical wash: soap, rinse, dry, wax, buff, clay bar, etc. I know enough to be able to mislead people, but I have a question.

How do you guys wash your car after you've recently waxed it? I know the common procedure for many of you is to use Dawn to remove wax so that one can really clean the old stuff off before a new application. But, I'm assuming that you guys aren't waxing every week, so, what are you doing in the weeks between waxes? Just a simple rinse off (no soap)? What soaps do you use if you use them? Suggestions? I'd like to make the shine from the wax last as long as possible.

normal wash then go over with speed detailer (like a quick wax)
you'll definately be able to tell if the car still has a good coat of wax on it after a normal wash and dry.
the detailer adds to it and also cleans up those little spots you can miss.

For regular washing I use Meguires Gold Class car wash soap. Using a car wash soap will not remove your wax.

I don't remove wax before adding another layer, as with Zaino multiple layers enhance the shine and protection. Like others said, regular car wash soap won't remove wax (at least the good wax) and I just use a claybar every couple of months to remove any contaminents on my car and make it soft as a babies butt again, and also wax and polish at least once a month.
