Touchless for me here as well. The touchless here does a really good job except on the wheels of course. One of these days I am expecting the drying machine to blow off my wing and hood scoop .

Stang...

Couple things to help a bit with the Touchless Wash.... you can carry a spray bottle with some Simple Green (pretty concentrated) and spray rims just before entering the wash area.... may wanna spray water on 'em 1st tho. SG likes to be wet.

I use a leaf blower to dry my cars.... sometimes a California Blade to get the BIG stuff off, then a leaf blower to remove all the stuff in the nooks and crannies.....then a synthetic chamois to finish it off.

Try the leaf blower..... works on all sorts of things... motorcycles, bikes, vehicles, even leaves.

Default Leaf blower.... works!!

BLK04....

Yes, a leaf blower works very well. I've been doing this for ...hell, maybe a decade. Started with motorcycles. I'd wash my bike, dry it off with a towel and then head out. Water'd be comin' outa all the nooks and crannies for miles.... streaked the bike and looked like crap.

So, got the idea to give the leaf blower a whirl. Worked very well.... But, you wanna hit the area of the pavement you're gonna park the vehicle on first. Blows all the dirt, sand and crap away... won't screw up the paint, but will toss crap on your freshly washed car...normally not a big deal anyway.

Then before you use the leaf blower, use a California blade, then the leaf blower from top to bottom.... wheels last. And finish with a synthetic chamois like I said.

Cuts the time down a great deal and when you are done, no moisture lurks in the door sills, fuel filler door, lights or mirrors.

Try it.... I have an electric blower, but the more expensive gas model will work same/same. And, no.... sand can't get in the blower under any conditions that I can think of.

In the winter I'll usually get a hand wash done once a month for about $30 at a local detail shop.

About once a week I'll take it to the pressure washer and hose all the salt and dirt off of it.

Last weekend I was out cleaning my wheels, it was about 35 F out and the old lady accross the street from me came out to take her trash out to the curb. She saw me on the way and came over and asked if I was on drugs. I laughed and said no, she then replied you must be an idiot then and walked off! ROFLMAO, gotta love old people, they just say whatever comes to mind...

I just got done washing my car outside in the 35 degree weather...still had snow everywhere. My car definitely needed it though. My car is white, but after all the crap they put out for the snow a couple days ago, it was looking more like a dull cgm. It's not that bad because my hose comes from inside the garage and has access to both cold and hot water.

A couple of the locals drove by and probably thought I was nuts, but I don't care.
