I have never heard of using a leaf blower to dry a car. I use the mirco fiber clothes and a few other types of lint free clothes that I have. I guess it would work like a touch-less car wash just be careful not to hit your car.

best way to dry is use a synthetic chamois then buff with microfiber. takes about 10 minutes.

Yeah the leaf blower works pretty well...especially for getting the water outta those damn hard spots........use that and do a finish with an absorber, then buff with microfiber to buff..........AWESOME!!!!!!

A lot of the guys on autopia.org use a leaf blower then follow with a microfiber drying towel. The guys on autopia.org are detailing gurus, they really know what they are talking about since many of them detail as a side job. I just use a microfiber drying towel.

Seems like a really good idea. I'll give it a try next time.

Be sure to go electric, not gas. I tried it on a test vehicle (my wife's Acura TL) with crappy results....due to the hard Florida water the leaf blower seemed to make the water spots worse...like water streaks.....but it is a very dark vehicle. I have to use the Mr. Clean system to eliminate water spots. With that I let it drip dry. Works great.

I've not tried the leaf blower on the STI yet. Probably works fine for softer water or lighter color cars. ~Karl

I use a leaf blower, use an electric one. NOT gas. It works well, no need to chamois after. The best way to ensure no scratches from drying. The goal is to touch your paint as little as possible.

yep, a 205 mph leaf blower is actually the *recommended* way by a professional detailer to be sure nothing scratches while drying

i believe it's not necessary unless you have a show car
i use the napa water sprite which is the best drying tool to use...better than the absorber that thing sucks
