Default Best Rim Cleaner Ever Made

Hello. I work at BMW and use a non commercial acid rinse on the BMW's. Of course I take a few liberties and take some home with me for my STi. Works great. This is non commercial because the acid levels are so strong that it cannot be sold to the public. If you are interested in trying a sample, or just getting a bottle, IM my friend who works with me. It will be bottled and shipped directly to you. 100% promise it is the best. And we use it on z8's.

His name is Jesse.

I used to work for a detailing company and we used acid rinse. It is definitely the easiest and most effective way to clean your wheels, but I wouldn't use it on my own car, as over time, it can damage the finish. We wouldn't even use it on the nicer cars or those that had nice aftermarket wheels. It's so strong we had to wear rubber gloves while using it so it didn't burn our skin.

So I guess this stuff is the opposite of the P21S approach of a pH balanced product?

For some reason I don't think the painted BBS' will take to "acid" very well over time.

Moving to wheels & tires. I strongly recommend that everybody stick to commercial cleaners from reputable companies that sell items that are legal for sale. That way you have some recourse if something goes wrong. Do you want to ruin a $2000 set of wheels based on what someone suggests is safe if used correctly but admits that it cannot be sold because its unsafe?

Personally, I've had a great experience with Meguiar's wheel cleaner in the purple spray bottle. I was sorely disappointed with BMW's commercial wheel cleaner.

First off, plugs for the products....
P21S wheel cleaner http://www.autosupermart.com/shop/sc...%2fp21s&pf=sql

Rejex avaition protectant/wax for wheels. Rejex is a metal protectant (wax) that bonds to metal and prevents adhesion of foreign materials at a molecular level. It can be added to body of car..just not on anything porous.
http://www.corrosionx.com/rejex.html

I get out the jack stands and take OFF the wheels.

Thoroughly clean the wheels with P21S. Let completely dry, then apply Rejex carefully over entire wheel inside and out. Little bit of Rejex goes a long way. Let sit for at least 12 hours. Buff out the cure slowly. Put wheels back on.

Now you have clean wheels. For the next 4-6 months, the wheels will just need a quick wipe of a damp towel to clean. Any dust and road grime will simply wipe right off. It makes an incredibly smooth surface.

Yes, this takes time but it is worth it.

Thumbs up Meguiars Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner!!

I know this is an old post but DAMN!! this stuff works great!! I suggest everyone that's tired of using that brush to clean your wheels that are full of brake dust to use this product. Thick layers in the back of the wheel may take light brushing but this stuff takes most of it off. Again sorry about the late post... I just used it today and I just wanted to let everyone know my opinion. PEACE.....

Yeah, dig it. I've had fantastic results with the Meguiars Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner (purple bottle). Works fantastic on our BBS wheels. I used it for quite a while on my SVX alloys when I had it. Never a problem. And it's pretty cheap and available everywhere.

Simple green is another good product for cleaning our alwayscoveredinbrakedust wheels. Its basically a super concentrated degreaser that you can use to clean off a charcoal gril, or a driveway. I just wet the wheels prior to car wash, drench each wheel in simple green, let it sit for 10 or so mins while i start to soap up the rest of the car, then rinse off with some good hard water pressure. The cool thing is this stuff is darn cheap, and can be found everywhere from Wal-Mart to pep boys.
