Default The ULTIMATE Wheel Cleaner

I finally found something that works after trying a million different "spray and rinse" wheel cleaners and I thought I'd share it. Castrol's All Wheel Cleaner. This stuff totally desolves brake dust. It says it's a spray and rinse but I've figured out that there's probably nothing out there that's truly spray and rinse for our amount of brake dust unless it's acid.

Just spray it on (one wheel at a time), let it sit for about 30 seconds (don't let it dry), lightly scrub with a big wheel brush, and hose it off. It pratically liquifies the brake dust. I can do all the wheels in about 8 minutes. I actually enjoy doing the wheels now. Hopefully this gives someone back some weekend time!

Here's what I use.

Castrol Super Clean All Wheel Cleaner

Black Magic Wheel Brush

Autozone has both.

PS2 is my bread and butter. Then 3 coats of rejex over the BBSers.

Anyone know of a brush that actually fits b/t the brembos and the inner side of the wheel? I can't find one and find washer every inch of the wheels to be cumbersome.

I have found that P21S gel cleaner is the absolute best at getting rid of stubborn brake dust. I didn't wash my wheels for 3 months and I sprayed them down, waited a few minutes, and a simple kitchen sponge got them perfectly clean with a single swipe. The stuff is pretty expensive though, but well worth it IMO.

I've been too lazy to hit the wheels with a brush lately, but some wheel cleaner and a power washer seem to do the trick as well.

I'll second that.

I also think the P21S and RejeX combo is great. I actually tested this (didn't want to RejeX all those nooks and crannies just to find it didn't work). I RejeXed one half of one front wheel, let it get filthy, and then cleaned it with the P21S wheel cleaner. The difference between the two was huge, and this was with no scrubbing. Since I have a set of winter wheels, it makes it easy to clean which ever ones aren't on the car.

Eagle A to Z is pretty good too. Just a reminder to wear some eye protection while you scrub your wheels with a cleaner and brush. I had some thrown from the brush's bristles.

What BAH14 said^^^^^. Clean with PS21, wax with whatever and the wheels come clean with less effort and scrubbing. As for a wheel brush, just picked up a Meguiar's wheel brush I think may go between the wheel and the caliper. Will advise once I try it.

I searched and searched, but apparently this thread is not on the new site. This thread should answer a lot of questions. I have so far only used RejeX on my wheels, but next time I wax, plan to do the whole car.

Says it's safe on painted wheels. It's super strong though, strongest stuff I've ever used so I'm not discounting what you're saying. But it's only on for about a minute, and they do say to not let it dry on the wheel. I've used it about 4 times with no problems. Clearcoat is still hard.

I've had trouble with castrol etching aluminium parts. Needless to say, I steer clear of it now.
