Iv tried lots of stuff out there, in my experience zaino is by far the best from what I have seen. As great as it worked and as long as it lasted I just cant stand to go through the PITA process everytime. Since I got my STi iv been using the NXT Meguiars stuff. It works great cant complain, its just the smoothness and protections lasts about 2 washes. Im looking for something out there that is as good as zaino without the 45 step process.

I have been using Klasse for a few years now and love it. Some guys like Klasse AIO followed with some NXT. I prefer a quality carnauba wax for added depth to the color. You could just apply a coat of Klasse AIO and a coat or two of Klasse Sealant Glaze and have a nice long lasting shine. What I do though, is put on a coat of Klasse AIO, then a couple coats of Klasse Sealant Glaze, followed by a few coats of a carnauba wax, not all in one day btw. Might not be much easier than Zaino but honestly to get a good quality shine it is going to take a few different coats of stuff. One thing, after the first wash of spring this year, after a few months of no washes during the winter, I noticed the finish is still pretty smooth and slick so this year I might just stick with the carnauba wax and not bother cleaning and reaplying the Klasse products. That is one thing that has impressed me with Klasse, is how long it lasts, of course I probably apply more coats then I need to but my car looks great.

Default RE: Wheel Options...

I second the recommendation for klasse. I use all-in-one and sealant glaze and they are the best products I have come across. I applied one coat of AIO and one coat of sealant glaze in December and when I washed my car for the first time since that detail in March, it still felt like there was a good coat of wax on it. If you really want to maintain the shine, use both klasse products once every 3-6 months, and use a carnauba wax (I like Pinnacle Souveran) once every few weeks. I guarantee you won't find a better combo than this.

I did the same thing. Washed in November or maybe the beginning of December and did not wash it again till March. The finish was still smooth and shiney.

BTW BoosJunkie, that is the exact combo I use, Klasse and Pinnacle Souveran.

Wait - are you saying you didn't wash your car at all from december all the way until march?
yeah, I go to school in Ohio and our winters suck. I don't have anywhere to wash my car by hand so I have to take it to one of those do it yourself places. so it costs money and the car is literally dirty again 20 minutes later so it's pretty pointless. So I just put a good coat of wax on and let it be dirty for a few months. Seems to work fine, the car just looks like crap for awhile.

What's the point of thick coats? It's not like you end up with a thicker layer of wax after you wipe it off. I mean, you could apply it with a putty knife, but only so much will adhere to the paint. After you've applied enough, you're just wasting material and making removal harder. In my experience.

NXT looks great when it's fresh, and it goes on and comes off very easily, but it doesn't seem to last any longer than any other finish. Is there anything that really lasts noticeably longer than the latest synthetics?

Not a true wax like carnauba, it can melt and evaporate, which is why I use a synthetic as the base coats. My point was that everyone says how bad salt and the chemicals used during the winter on the roads are and that you need to wash it off regularly. I figured all that sitting on the finish for months would have eaten away at the wax.

Any suggestions or reccomendations on where to buy these two products?

Thanks for the info!

Default waxes

I use an obscure wax called Formula113 (www.formula113.tv). This stuff is truly high end. It goes on easy. Comes off easy. No powder, dust or caking in the crevices/trim (stuff dries clear). Formula113 is an organic wax(carnuba) so it won't last as long as the synthetics. But, it's awesome.

Zaino...I hear this stuff is great (www.zainostore.com). I haven't used it, but will be soon (just ordered the whole kit). I wonder how labor intensive Zaino is. I've got 3 cars waiting for Zaino (2 black cars and an 04 wrb Sti). I plan on doing the whole Zaino 9 yards followed by a coat of Formula113 (combining synthetics and organics). Supposedly, the synthetics will give you that brilliant mirrorlike look while the organics will give you that warm, deep wet look.

I haven't used Klasse, but plan on ordering some soon.

Yes, it's really good. I'll take this stuff over NXT, Mothers, or Zymol any day.

I actually bought a bottle at a car show in Fort Lauderdale. Almost all the cars there were using Formula113. Hey, if it's good enough for car shows, Jay Leno, and the batmobile, it's good enough for me.

I'm still a big fan of Zaino. I've tried others and they don't seam to last that long. Figure to spend most of the day when you do a complete Zaino job.

For wax my fav. is probably Zymol. Works great and lasts a ton longer than Meguiar's wax. It can be found pretty easier at auto stores and walmart which is another plus.
