it's midnight but i'll get more pictures tommorow if I can.

I just finish applying zaino Z-CS. It's almost cured and it looks jaw-dropping. The surface didn't get smoother, but the shine is ... it's wow.

I've sworn by Zaino for years...Their products are top notch (esp. the towels) and all their waxes and polishes smell like candy. I've had people (girls mostly) compliment the smell of the outside of my car days after waxing/polishing...haha.

Odd, the application of any wax or sealant should have an immediate effect on the texture of the clear coat. Did you clay and or use a pre wax cleaner? Ive found that the main reason for not getting a slick finish is either from trying to lay sealant/wax over bonded contaminants or not having the clear coat perfectly clean for ideal bonding.

^^^

Let me explain what I did

Wash with CG citrus wash
clay bar sonus green
menzerna P085RD on a LC green and a blue from Detailersdomain
2 coats of Z5 activated with ZFX
1 coat of Z2
wait 24 hrs
2 coats of Z2 activated with ZFX
top it off with Z-CS.

The paint was already extra smooth by the time I added Z-CS, so if it got smoother, I didn't notice. Althought, the paint really got glossy. I did only the hood with Z-CS at first cause i'm skeptical like that ... or a nerd.

you lost me when you started talking about activation Not familiar with zaino product usage. I use sealants which you just apply and remove.

If the paint was already smooth to begin with than i could see why you didnt notice a difference.

Did you notice any difference at all with layering? I always only apply one layer, i was told that sealants or waxes generally only bond to clear coat and wont bond to them selfs very well, so layering in essence doesnt do much except maybe even out coverage. Maybe zaino products are different

haha sorry I'll try to do my best explaning.

ZFX is a bonding activater to be used with some of the zaino products. It helps "cure" the sealant quicker so you can apply more layers of zaino in a 24hrs period.

to be honest, the paint "smoothness" stopped after the layers of Z5 and Z2.

Zaino doesn't take more time to apply than any other sealants, it's just that you are restricted to applying only 3 coats per 24 hrs.
