IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | Hey guys, My passengerside healight has a scratch that actually turned out to be some kind of plastic fatigue mark... It is about 4 inches across, 1/4 inch thick and it is very annoying at certain angles when looking from less than 5 ft. At first I thought it was some type of scratch so I tried everything I could get my hands on - Bluemagic, Megilar and I've also tried that NOVUS 3-step and Plexus plastic cleaner. Last two especially did a great job but I can still see it. I was trying to feel the scratch but I can feel absolutely nothing - it is actually more smoother than the OEM finish now thanks to those chemicals. Now my question is...how would I get rid of this? It doesn't get in the way of funtionality at all, but it is just very annoying. I was thinking about playing with some headlight armor type flims to mask it. If I can't get rid of it, then I want to hide it somehow. Either that or is it possible to just get headlight lense? Any ideas? This ad is not endorsed by this member. So what you are saying is that even if I can't tell by moving my fingers on it I still need to do more? I know scratch removal process on headlamps does take a while but does it really make that much difference? I think I've spent at least 2 hours on this... is that minute amount for this type of process? |

Then buff/polish with the standard wax polisher. I'm gonna give it a try with mine one of these days. Want them nice and shiney! CORRECTION - Grit values: Start with 1000 and go up, not 100. Lapsus linguae. Or lapsus typae rather.... Last edited by ToeKutter; 09-01-2008 at 09:41 AM. |
