IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | Honestly, I don't know what else I can do to avoid stupid people. I park at the end of the lot to grab some groceries tonight and return to see that someone has scraped my rear bumper not once, but twice! One 6" scrape on the left rear corner, and an 18" one on the right rear. How does that even happen!?! The only thing I can think is that someone took a shopping cart or something and sent it barrelling UPHILL towards my car, it ricocheted off my car, against some invisible object, and returned to hit me again. And of course, it happens 2 weeks after I spend money getting a number of dings and scuffs removed and have the ride in near-pristine condition (as much as a 5-year old car can be). Had to vent somewhere. I'm incredibly pissed off. ![]() Oh, and on a related note - I have to find some kind of product that can take out the scuffs. A few places it went all the way through the paint, but I'm hopeful I can clean most of it up. Tried to wax it, but that only made a look a *little* less terrible. Any suggestions? IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (3) | Hi H,I carry 2000 grit sand paper on a rubber block, spray bottle h20,with 2 small tubes of some german wax and polish, obp touch up paint, small sponge to apply touch up. Mostly its all my short comings = the lip vs curbs.I have a body shop owner teaching me auto body as a hobby, since so many retards are pro-creating to increase the un respectful wastes of o2 that roam the planet to cause all things nasty to our cars amongst many things bad. I am convinced if you dont want it Fu##ed up leave it at home. Mistakes happen ,i accept that. However, this type of Sh!t is ''off the hook''i.e. 2 scrapes in two dif. areas= smells like no mistake to me! All this being said... i have my ''retribution methods'' not socially acceptable to present here =pay backs can be everlasting biatches ! |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | you should park in any open spot like a normal person next to the other cars. the other cars offer protection against carts and runaway objects, plus it doesnt stick out as much and is less of a target for thieves and hoodlums looking for that "nice car to key" i've been parking all of my nicer than average rides wherever i want my entire life and I haven't had a single bonk or parking lot scratch anyway, good luck with getting that fixed up |

And still no resolution. I called the grocery store and they said their security person was out, but took my name/number and said they'd call back. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I try to park next to other sporty cars that look well maintained. I know that they have the same concerns I have. Its not uncommon for me to walk out into the parking lot and find 2 or 3 other sporty cars parked beside my car and the car I parked beside. On a side note, I used to park out away from the other cars, but I noticed young kids in beater cars would ride by my car and look at it. One did a quick snap in reverse into the parking spot next to mine. Since then, I park with the crowd. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
