| Lurker | I own a 2008 sti and would like to remove as many badges as possible. What is the friendlest and easiest way to remove badges from my STi. I figure I should remove the badges as soon as possible before the color changes from UV exposure This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

Using fishing line helps to remove the emblems from paint w/o scratching as long as you KEEP the adhesive hot and soft. Then follow with googone than paint cleaner/polish and wax quickly after. I say quickly because of the thin paint/clearcoat. No need to run around though. Easy. |

| STI Driver | I just pulled the badges off my Wife's 08 Tribeca. Just leave it out in the sun for an hour. I didnt fool around w/line, I just wrapped a pair of pliars jaws w/tape, gripped the badges w/the jaws (away from the paint) & just slowly pulled away from the car (straight away from the car to avoid contact wthe emblem & paint). The emblems all came off easily & took the adhesive w/them. Just take it slow & the adhesive should pull away from the paint & stay attached to the emblems. No mess & just wiped it over w/a damp cloth & dried. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | The adhesive he is referring to is the gooey stuff behind the emblems. It hs to be heated up enough for it to be easy to take off. The goo-gone is the liquid that help take off the adhesive. |

I used a hairdryer and dental floss to get mine off. Once they were off and sprayed the leftover adhesive with WD-40 and then heated it with the hairdryer and once you get it hot enough, it will almost peel right off. BTW, I used that flat tape-like floss and that stuff broke 2-3x per letter. I recommend using the older rounded floss. | |
