IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I know everyone here has the same problem with getting alot of rock chips in the front of there cars. I was wondering if there was anyway to help this. I have heard of the clear bra's and am wondering how well they work out and the lifespan? Any good waxes or polishes that help out either? Any help thanks. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | my bumper is horrible also, damn new england roads. I am getting it repainted along with my hood august 18th and i'm also doing the 3M autobon clear protectant film ($400 installed). I will take pics and post when its done. The 3M film is awesome, it came stock on my Cayenne and it works great. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (16) | The only way I "know" works is a clear bra. Putting extra wax on will only help with dirt. The rocks smack ans scar the paint. A clear bra would take the rocks and deflect them, to leave you paint looking the same underneath. But their expensive a all heck, so it realyl depends. I said screw it a long time ago. It's a car not a prestine restored show car, so "shti happends" |

| Junior STI Driver | I did clear bra couple years back. My sti is black, so I wanted to the clearest one with the best possible protection. I found Venture Shield to be the clearest and with the best protection. I got mine installed by these guys: Premier Protective Films International (aka Premier Mobile) I highly recommend them. Check them out if you are thinking of going with clear bra they do really good work and they are mobile as well. Don't know if they are still using Venture products, but mine is still holding up with no signs of yellowing. Watch out for those installers that cut the film over your car, it will leave your car all cut up if they do this. |

| Junior STI Driver | For touching up rock chips I use the Langka rock chip kits...you can find them here: LANGKA Complete Paint Chip Repair Kit: Repair scratches on your car without a professional paint job! touch-up paint, scratch repair kit, chip repair, . The kit basically smooths the touch up paint that you apply so it blends in to the rest of your paint. After touching up the chips and detailing the bumper or hood, I would seriously consider putting some clear bra on because I am not aware of anything else that protects against rock chips better while looking transparent. |

It reminds me of tint you can do it yourself but you might not be so happy with the result. I live in the desert so it full of sand and rocks that pit and scratch the car all day long, makes for a hard life for the cars. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
