Default Detailer dented my hood/WTF!

Haven't been able to wash the Subie since my back surgery 2 weeks ago. So, I figured I'd have a small ding taken out of my passenger rear door and than have car detailed. Paintless dent guy took care of ding yesterday(size of a quarter). Today, the detailer comes(still here) and we're going over how I don't want him to spray down the engine compartment and he goes to shut the hood. Before I can utter a word he quickly drops the hood and pushes it shut with the ball of his palm. Left a nice dent in the aluminum. What an idiot. I quickly explained the possible result of doing so, and sure enough there's an indentation like I see on so many other Subies. It was only a $100 exterior wash/wash. Gonna cost them more than that for a paintless dent guy to fix. It's in the worst spot up front there. Double walled. I'm so Pissed.
Thanks for letting me vent.

I swear to god dealers need to be more informed about the cars they sell. I feel like more and more are just incomptent.

This was a "Detailer", not the dealer. They are here at my house detailing and denting it. Nothing like a fresh wax over a fresh dent.

If he's licensed and insured, there shouldn't be a problem. Just advise him of the damage.

$100 to wash an exterior of a car is damn expensive, if all he did is wash it. That's like a 15 min job for an STi, if that.

I got lazy one morning and took my Acura to a $9 car wash, the result = broken rear windshield. (and I do detail cars, I just got lazy)

Well, $1200 repair, dealer rental, scratches from all the glass that flew around, court costs, 2 days off work and me finally getting my money back....

nobody washes my cars anymore under any circumstances.

It's getting buffed and waxed too. He's finishing up now. I'm gonna go out in a minute and work this out. Either not pay til dent is fixed, or speak to owner and I'll Have a bill sent to him. I talked to my dent guy I use(paintless) and he can't make it out until Tuesday of next week to look at it to even determine if it can be removed.

The owner of the detail shop is coming out with a paintless dent guy to try and fix it. They may be able to either remove hood latch on bottom side of hood or drill a hole to access it. It is right where the latch is. They're being cool about it so I am trying to be cool too. We'll see if they can fix it. Hopefully so. It will be iffy because of the aluminum. In the last 2 weeks since my surgery, I've had a water meter man try to walk between flower bed/bush and front of car, only to fall flat on his face while smashing my bush just barely avoiding falling onto car. And now this jackass dented my hood after just having a dent removed from door yesterday. And that dent had bothered me everyday since I saw it 3 weeks ago. This car must hate me right now.

I don't want to sound like an @$$hat, but please don't let other people who are like most of the folks out there, CLUELESS about our car, detail your car.

Detail it yourself. It's fun and self rewarding.

Unfortunately, since I just had back surgery which was stated in 1st post, you do sound like a jerk. I tried to take care of my car and got burned. Next time, according to some people, I should just let it sit outside and get crapped on by birds and get weather beaten for 2 months until I'm able to wash it myself. Thanks man, that post really cheered me up. I only tried to vent on the thread like I stated. The 6 viks a day I'm taking for pain and being unable to sleep at night have me alittle on edge. I'm usually quicker and funnier when I'm sarcastic.

I'm getting an 05 STI soon... wasn't aware this car dents to easily. Can anyone tell me where else to be careful so I can avoid denting my own car. LOL. And it'll be a good way for me to check out the car before I pick it up.

Thanks
