Default Foam Alternative to Clay Bar?

Has anyone used one of these foam blocks that are supposed to be better than clay barring? Here's a link to one, but if you type "clay bar foam" into google, you'll get a few products that use the same foam chunk. I have a bunch of Meg's detail spray, so I'd like to see if picking up one of these foam things would be a good idea. Please let me know what you think.

This one looks a little pricey, but you can get the same thing for around $10. I just linked to this one because it had a better description. Plus you can "clay" 20 cars with just this one thing, vs. maybe 4 with regular clay. Still interested to see someone's opinion on this stuff.

Don't mean to thread jack, but I was under the impression that a clay bar is only good for a one time use. Is this true?

not at all... an acutal clay bar can be molded around/flipped etc to get a clean section to use.

If it won't remove wax, then I don't see how it can be as effective as clay bar.

claybars dont remove wax. thats not their intended use at least.

they are meant to remove contaminants in the paint.

I'll have to correct u on that one, they remove everything that sits on top of the clearcoat, dirt, wax, polish, glaze, etc.

Good for about 3 times (3 cars) depending on how much dirt it collects.

You have to mold it into a ball and than into a waffer again to reveal more clean surface as you go around the car. Once the claybar is totally dirty, its done its job. You can then use it on the windows or toss it away.

Looks good to me. It's just another "catchy" type medium that can be used in the same way as claybar. And I too belive claybar removes "everything" on top of the clear coat. And helps pull out other debri from the clearcoat. It also removes the debri from the wax coat, thus removing the wax it self. It's a know fact to wax you're car after a full clay job. Or else you're paint is "naked"..
