Question DRI WASH `n GUARD (Good or Bad)???

Now before I start this thread let me say I AM NOT A SALESMAN and NOT TRYING TO ENDORSE A PRODUCT!

With that said, a neighbor of mine was outside detailing his ride when I was driving home the other day and I thought to myself damn that looks clean and very shiny. So I walked over to him and asked him what he uses to detail his car. He then went on to tell me that he dry washes his vehicle.

I was like dry wash as in no water? He said yep that he uses this product (link below)...

Products

I have never seen this before but damn it did an awesome job on his car. I thought about using it on my brand new Silver STI. Basically what I would do is give it a good wash first then apply the first coat. Then after every week or two just go back and keep reapplying without washing the car first (unless it was really dirty, then a quick wash before applying).

I did some research on dry washing and apparently it uses a process called emulsification (wikipedia it). It is a scientific process of lifting dirt off a surface with polymers. Sounds pretty high-tech. So the product cleans, polishes, and protects all with a simple stroke of a rag.

The question is any you guys use this out there??? I am a little skeptical about it, but if it is as good as it looks and says it works I think its the best invention since sliced bread (at least for me). As always I like to hear all opinions good and bad.

P.S. Sorry if I wrote to much I tried to explain it in the shortest way possible

There is a product targeted at the RV crowd called Quick Easy Wash that lets you wash your car without rinsing it, but you do use two buckets of water. The guys on Autopia, the big car detailing message board, are generally quite happy with it and a lot of them use it, especially in the winter. With the two-bucket technique you aren't pushing around dirt from the whole car and in my experience it worked pretty great.

I did it for a winter on my Evo, but since then I've just taken my cars to the good car wash in town during the winter. Still, it's a great option for people who don't have good access to a hose, or who live in areas with water usage restrictions. If you want to look it up, go to the message boards at autopia.org and search for QEW - they're crazy about acronyms over there.

I've used DWG before and it works really well. I still use it every now and again if the car is only slightly dirty, but I don't like using it if the car is really bad. Plus I found that I can wash the car with water easier and faster than with just DWG.

There are numerous no-water or less-water car wash systems out now, though. And you should never, ever run your car through an automated brushed car wash. Those brushes never get changed out, and are very likely to damage your paint. The guard rails have also damaged wheels before.
