IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | sorry if this has been answered before, my search yielded no results. I had the bad idea of waxing my car the other day, and as typical subaru, my hood has a lot of tiny paint chips, some big some small. The hood was warm and the wax dried real fast. I got rid of most of the wax just fine, but quite a few of the paint chips now hold tiny amounts of yellowish/white wax which makes them REALLY stand out, as supposed to before they would just blend in because weren't too deep. somebody tood me to use q-tips and get it off, but isn't there some wax remover liquid or something that'll just dissolve it? thanks. IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I may try that. I'll remove the wax if I have to and just stay away from the front quarter of the hood which is where the chips are. Maybe I'll use that liquid wax for that part. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (24) | you need to use touch up paint on the paint chips. if they are down to the metal (Al), it will corrode. in the case of chips on the rest of the car, it will rust. |

it's almost an impossible game to win given our cars have stupidly thin paint and in the winter rock salt combined with sand makes it impossible to avoid. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (7) | if you get wax down in the chips and you want to get it out... try a product called Wax Blaster... its always worked pretty well for me. it has a foam applicator tip but for small chips id recommend wetting a Qtip with the solution and getting it out that way.
