Default OBP Care...

Hello All,

Need some car care tips for my OBP STi.... still grinning about the way the turbo spools up......anyway I digress...

whats the best way to wash and wax this car? I know car washes are a no no, but I don't have a place to wash my car!

I would also like recommendations for wash and wax products that you particularly like...I tend to like Mcguire's... any thing else you like?

Oh have I told you that I shat myself driving the twisty hilly bits near my home, and It was wet and car stuck no matter how hard I turned into the corners...I am beginning to feel like fernando alonso in the wet....coming from a front wheel drive Jetta VR6, I am thoroughly enjoying my little subie!

I wash my car using Mcguires car wash soap and a regular car wash sponge. I dry the car with a california water blade (squeege). No towels touch the car. The I use one of the leaf blowers to blast excess water in the crevices. I wax using Mcquires as well.

Why no towels? I use a shammi(sp?). Cali blade scares me. I have one, and have still managed to lay a scratch on my girls car..

Chaos's detailing blog pretty much covers what to do..... i also avoid the blade, even though i have one..... i will use it on my windows if theres still alot of water on there, but other than that i dont think i'd get it near the paint.....

i use a shammy (whatever the spelling is), but will be switching to the microfiber cloths and such when i order some stuff from detailersdomain....

i also use a mr. dry auto-dry car wash, its pretty cool but i still use the shammy afterward to get everything... wish i had a foam gun and pressure washer
