Default How to Remove light scratches from Gauge Cluster

Hello,
I noticed there are some light scratches (like swirl marks) on the clear plastic cover of my Gauge Cluster. I was wondering what would be the easiest way to remove these? Is there a product that can be used to remove very light swirl marks from clear plastic that can be applied by hand? I am sure a buffer would do the trick, but I am hoping I can find a solution that doesn't involve removing the gauge cluster (I've done it before and it is a PITA). Thanks!

There are products available for polishing plastics.

Try Plexus helmet visor cleaner and polish.

A google search should help you find a source.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did some searching on this product, and it looks like it is more of a wax/filler than it is a polish.

Anyone have other suggestions? Thanks!

The only way to really remove the scratches is by machine polishing. Taking it out is really easy, takes 2 minutes.

Plexus is great on soft plastic windows (like on a boat top) but it really does nothing on hard plastic...

Dunno if this might be a bit too aggressive, but check it out

Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner will clean and clarify plastic lens covers!

Not when you have a stock boost gauge mounted on the steering column ...

Blue magic makes a plastic and acrylic polish. I used of on my cluster with near top notch results, it can be had at your local pep boys.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I will go to Pep Boys and see if I can find it. Did you only have to apply it by hand?

If you have a dremmel tool, you can get a polishing tip for it and use that. Just start at a very low speed and don't apply a lot of pressure.
