Default Smoke detailed- 18+hours on a 1991 M5

This was my most enjoyable detail yet. 1991 BMW M5 w/ 60k miles. The only other person to touch this car is its owner, who is a very hands on, meticulous guy who demands perfection. I was told to take as much time as needed to get it perfect. Its spent plenty of time at the track and at one point or another was a daily driver. After spending a lot of time with this car I found it hard to believe its 16+ years old. Just in moving the car around the driveway and in an out of the garage I found the engine sounded incredible and throttle response was very crisp. Truly a timeless machine.

2 days and 18+ hours later she was finished.

I always love detail threads. Makes me want to go out and detail the suby, but for that I'd need motivation, lol. Beemer looks better than it did in the showroom.

Thanks, and yes Noxon is the ****! Works wonders with a fine grade steel wool for exhaust tips and I use it with a soft MF for aluminum trim, good stuff.

I was very pleased with the way this one turned out, the color really glows now and the owner was very pleased, a friend of his was over his house a few days later and saw this car and said " I need this guys number", hes now a customer of mine! After all that work and frustration in trying to get something the way you want it its things like that which make it all worth it. Yea swirls suck but persistance and patience pay off afterwards. Actually just picked up a Makita rotary polisher so that should help correct faster and more effeciently.

Thanks. BTW you wouldn't believe what dealers do to prep cars and how a new car with no miles on it can come off the showroom brand new all swirled up If any dealer asks you if you want the dealer prep when buying a new car, say no! Go home and clean it yourself properly.

Yeah, my 07 was swirled to all hell when i picked it up, but it was at night and i didnt notice... there were also some noticeable scratches and stuff, but i didn't exactly have a smooth transaction with that dealership so i just let it go.... its been polished and waxed once since i had it and it helped a little, but there are still swirls..... hopefully i can take the rest of em out some other time

For the interior, i dunno about the magic erasers, they are pretty harsh. If its financially do-able for you, get a nice steam cleaner, i ue one on my other cars and it can that nasty caked on dirt out of loads of places, including punched leather seats!

It was only used on hard plastic surfaces and the doors lower panels and kept well moistened with 1Z plastik reinger, seemed to be just about the only thing to do the trick on the bad scuff marks.
