Default paint sealant

So I'm new to the world of Subaru and my sti. I'm actually receiving it today. A DGM '08 sti. I'm getting venture shield to protect certain parts of the car, but I have a question.
My dealer asked if I wanted paint sealant applied prior to the venture shield. Isn't paint sealant supposed to be applied automatically, as part of completing the bodywork/paintwork on a new car prior to receiving it? When did paint sealant become an additional option for more money? Anybody have any comments, thoughts, or suggestions?
I don't like this last minute nonsense and it bothers me that this should be a nonissue in the first place.

Do NOT cross-post threads.

Don't bother with it. 1) it's overpriced for the protection, assuming you're actually getting any, 2) you can do better on your own. This is a dealership ploy to make more money.

This is some fake thing that the dealer sells I bought it to. They called it the Zilon Coating. All it is, is a warranty for your paint.

The car's paint is already warrantied against defects. The coating thing doesn't really change it, and they do not append your warranty for having it.
