I just tell my dealer not to bother washing the outside. They always vacumm and clean the inside for free so I don't mind.

I'd call them up and tell them you want to take it to a reputable detailer and you expect them to pay for it. Make a big stink if you have to.

I bought my car from timmons of long beach and i watched as they washed and detailed my entire car. The older guy that was there that did it was extremely careful and friendly the entire time. I didnt have any problems with it but it coulda been some other guy..... just tell them you want them to fix it

My dealer out here destroyed my brothers 07' OBP. We went to go talk to the detailer and noticed he would never switch his rags out, and would used grimy rags on the brand new cars and would just swirl the f*** out the fresh paint jobs. In the end they denied any compensation and told us that swirls are the nature of black cars.

F-that...You need to dump a bottle of brake fluid in that their bucket and then see if they give some compensation! JK...haha.but seriously, I would report them to BBB, the corporate system and put a few signs out there saying AVOID the WASH BAY!

Who is the "they" in the compensation denial? The dealer? SOA? I filed a claim with SOA for the paint on my 07 OBP and after a few weeks, they covered the repaint. How damaged is the paint? See if SOA would be willing to pay for an exterior detail.
