IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | I cleaned my rims this morning with a new cleaner and when i went to leave the carwash my brakes didn't work for $hit. They were so bad that I couldn't stop before merging on to the main road I and ended up half way in the road and almost got hit by a Ford Escape. Luckily the guy swerved into the other lane or it would've been all over. (SUV+STI= BAD) Anyhow I've never experienced this before with any other cleaner and wanted to warn you guys to check your brakes after cleaning your rims. This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | Yea I use an acid based cleaner and it takes that fine layer of brake material off of the face of the rotor. What I do is just hit the brakes hard a few times in a safe location and they will be like they were before you cleaned. |

| Amateur STI Driver | That's happened to me after using some rim cleaner. Fortunetly, I was coming out of my driveway into an empty neighborhood... |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2003 Trader Rating: (11) | I use a leaf blower I bought to dry my wheels/brakes after washing them. It's the quickest way to dry the wheels/brakes.......they usually stick afterwards, especially if I don't drive the car for a few weeks after detailing it, but otherwise, it's fine. |

| Silver Member | yep, get that pretty much any time any kind of water it on the rotors whether it's from cleaning, or just wet. Couple decent stops and they clear themselves right up and good to go. |
