Magic clay makes a blue, and a red. Red is more agressive and should help with those more stubborn rear specs that don't come out. Don't use the red bar in general... follow the basic rule of auto paint care when claying just like polishing, and that is always use the least abrassive product needed to get the job done.

magic clay blue = use as often as you like
magic clay red = only on select stubborn spots

DD,

I just had my car painted and want to wax it. How long should I wait before I do so? I have been told to wait a while...?

jnprn2003, the best bet is to ask the body shop that painted it for you.

I have been told immediately on some work I have done and I have been told 1 month.

So really depends on the body shop and what paint they used.

Is it okay to use P21S gel wheel cleaner on chrome wheels? Also, whats good to use on wood trim in the interior?

P21S should be fine on chrome wheels. Just make sure the wheels are cool when you clean them up.

As for wood trim, you can use a nice paste wax on it. As long as it has a clear on it you should be fine polishing it with a safe for clear coat polish or wax.

Polish brings out the shine in the paint and depth. Wax is more for protection.

I'd say yes on this one.

but since white doesn't reflect like other colors such as darker colors, there isn't alot of reflections in aspen white.

Its good to polish out a car and clean the surface up from light scratches etc.

Shine and gloss no matter what color it is will always come from the paint prep.

So get a good polish and clean up the surface for a good wax or sealant.

Ok, how about wash mitts and drying towels.

I'm not too happy with Meguiar's. No matter if I wash the mitt and store it in ziplock bags, I feel it scratches the paint sometimes.

Also looking for a good brand of drying towels. I recently bought some 100% cotton towels in Macys for the shower, but used one of them on the STi and it worked well.

Your thoughts?

I would highly suggest Waffle Weave Drying towels.

Shmitt Wash Mitt.

These are great but I can warn you its either you love them or you hate them.
I used 1 for over 100 washes and its still going. The dirt is easily washed off, combine the Shmitt with a grit guard in the bucket and you will prevent more swirls and light scratches.
