Come on now, you can't expect us to share all our secrets! Therefore I will provide you with a sneak peak. This is a very low boost, semi-low timing map I did a while back that provided the road dyno of (3rd Gear):

And oh yea, big shout out to Rob @ Cobb for getting me back into the game today! Lets just say testing my own first attempt at coding didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped but all is well now. Next up, 11's at the track on opening day whoop!

Glad I could help, be safe on your trip, and stop killing your ECU

Wow Crystal, that is an impressive timing curve! Remind me again how you're able to happily run that much timing? What octane fuel are you adding the meth to? What octane fuel would it be equivalent to assuming no meth was added?

Sorry guys. Things have been crazy here. My 4yr old may have the mumps! Yes, he did get the MMR vaccine when he was a baby but it is looking like he might be the 0.1% that actually gets the mumps. Weird. Right now I am just tired. I'll get a log when I can.

Im running 93oct plus a mixture of anywhere from 50%-100% meth to h20. So far I can do as much on 50/50 as I can on 100%. Maybe I should stop wasting meth and just run 50/50 all the time, but then again, after I figured out the lower timing happy trend, my ecu has not pulled a lick of timing! I am almost confident that I can get at least 26* at 5000rpms but still haven't grown the pair to try yet. Ill probably try it out on my trip back to No. VA tomorrow. I honestly wish I could get more boost out of the vf39 starting at 5000rpms. That is the threshold where the vf39 really runs out of steam. It can make too much boost from 3-4000rpms but not enough after 5000rpms. When I like to be aggressive, I run 100% WG starting at 5000rpms. The max boost I can get is around 21-20psi depending on the gear selection. So with the lack of boost and equivalent of 100-107oct. I can push either a lot of timing or a lot of boost. Thats pretty much the equation for disaster if anything were to ever fail in the meth kit. The log you see up there is pretty conservative. I was to run out of meth or have my kit fail, theres enough DA in there to be pulled to a safe zone, and that boost level is not too bad, pretty much what wolf is running now. If the IAM ever dropped from 1 my fuel map would go into super rich mode. Pretty decent failsafe, except if I were trying to push the limits at the track.

Ok - time to post some data for me. 93 Octane, ~50d out. Stage 2 setup: TBE, CAI, FMIC, GM BCS (with some other little stuff that doesn't really matter like injectors, fuel pump, BPV). Stock turbo. Stock exhaust manifold and uppipe. Stock inlet tube. Stock TGVs. No porting/polishing on anything. Blablabla.

First, I used Crystal_Imprezav's (Jeff's) road dyno exactly as he had it. Same weights, etc. Here is what I get: 355hp/385tq ...

Honestly, I don't think this is accurate with the spreadsheet in this particular configuration. So, I went hunting and found Oswald80's (Mike's) spreadsheet. I plopped my numbers in there and I get: 315hp/345tq (which I think is more accurate) .

Given this discrepancy, I went back to Jeff's spreadsheet. I knew Jeff's spreadsheet has to be accurate in one way, shape or form so I went hunting for the issue. I found the issue (IMHO of course!!). The total weight in that spreadsheet was almost 3900lbs. No way does my car with me, gas, etc weigh that much. Mike's sheet had 3500lbs listed. A 400lb difference will make a big horsepower change. Jeff's sheet with the weight change yields 320hp/350tq with what I believe to be a more appropriate weight ...

Overall, when the same weights are used, we get very similar results. I think my tune is pretty good (but some of you are saying 'but wolf, you are running almost 22psi' ... .. . why yes, yes I am ).

Nice wolf, yea the last time I adjusted the weight, it was because I had a fully loaded car, spare and all. Gotta like my spread sheet cause it shows your rich spike and where it needs some timing and etc. mods. Your running crazy boost Tim. However I do have some comments for you. I think my previous weight is more accurate in terms of a dynojet. At 22psi, you are def. hitting torque in that range. On the other hand, I think the HP is a bit high in that case. BUT then again with 20psi at 5000rpms it is totally possible for you to be hitting HP numbers in that range. Weight adjusted the second go around is more like a mustang dyno IMO. Oh well, I only use it as a tuning tool. Being able to see dips and spikes in the curve makes it a huge tool for tuning.

Same here. Full tank of gas, kid seats, kid toys/books, spare, subwoofer, amp, gym bag, pool stick, oil, etc.

Ain't that the truth! Look at my no torque wonder down low - lol.

Gotta combat that rich spike somehow (lol). j/k.

It might be. However, at the same time, no way in heck am I making 350whp on 93 octane. I feel like 315/345 is about right (using total of 3500lbs). BTW, I weigh 185 and I had a ton of stuff in my car as I mentioned.

You think? All I see is a no torque wonder due to the FMIC . You see, that's what people don't get about the FMIC. Look at my graph. I'm making 345tq but I am calling it a no torque wonder - rofl.

Totally.

Lookin' good Tim. As you point out, that FMIC must surely be the culprit for your peak torque delayed to almost 4500 rpms.

Take that thing to the track...I'm anxious to see what kind of times you can pull off. Definitely looks capable of low 12's with some good driving!

Ok. I could not resist but here is Round Uno on my STI.
Thanks to Crystal for his support.

And the tunning keeps going.
