| Senior STI Driver | Hi guys, I've been working on my first custom StreetTuner map for my car this past week, and would like to see how some of my modified values compare to the pros. Do either/both of you have any of your own custom Stage 2 (stock intake, KN panel filter, Cobb catted TBE) maps you'd be willing to share with me? Please specifiy what fuel octane level the maps were made for. The map I'm working on is made for 95 octane since that's all I ever run. Keep in mind I have an 06 STI, so if you could convert your maps to be readable with my 06 STI StreetTuner software, that would be great. Thanks in advance! This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (12) | Couple of quick notes to touch on (haven't gotten a chance to go through it all yet): -For 95 oct. you should be able to run more timing, especially at lower rpm higher load points. That area needs a good amount of work and smoothing. - Is there any reason why you are not using my rescaled map that I posted in the other thread? Your loads scales are way too low if your targeting 18.5 psi -The golden rule (tuners style/pref) to a nice map is smoothness. That said, use that for ignition, da, boost, wgdc, avcs, and etc. -Notice the fuel variences in the fuel map from load to load(high). #1 you need to rescale you loads. Then work from there. For someone just getting into tuning, I suggest you play with the OTS rescaled map before you start fudging with smoothing, interpolating, avcs, and etc. Research turbo dynamics (make a world of difference and 'safety') and get you boost and wgdc dialed in. Next if you have a wideband get your fuel dialed in (pref rich at this point at least 10.8-10.9:1 nothing leaner for now) and playing with the intake calibrations along with the fuel targets to do so which will help you smooth out the map. When you get the in place move on to ignition. Look at the stock curve and see where there are 'bumps' in the road and where it is smooth. You will notice trends and in the mean time take a million thousand logs to see what you car likes and doesn't like in terms of timing. Your logs will teach your more than you think (more than any book or forum IMO). Thats it for now. |
