Default FIBET discussion

OK, What, exactly, is Boost Error Trim Fueling (FIBET)?

How is the input calculated and what does the ouput affect?

Is the input looking at a rate of change in MAP? The 'error' part of the label leads me to believe that it's comparing actual values to a target setpoint.
If this is the case then could this table be used to solve wolf's problem with his FMIC where the is a delay between throttle opening and actually getting boost because of the larger intake path. Dunno.

Now to the ouput: I haven't looked at this table in ProTUNER but I took a look last night in some of the open source tools. The output is labeled "Throttle Tip in Enrichment Compensation %".

So is this trimming the tip-in or actual fuel?

If it is altering the final tip in then does changing all of the values up or down just an easy way to move the entire tip in table up/down?

What do we know about this mysterious table?

Honestly, I don't think anyone knows what this table REALLY does.

I have used values of 0 (128), -30% (90), and -80% (25). This absolutely has NOT helped my FMIC issue. I made a 50% change in going from 90 to 25. The AFRs on spoolup were the same.

There are 2 titles for this map:
1) Cobb = FIBET = Fuel Injector Boost Error Trim
2) Enginuity = Throttle Enrichment Compensation (Boost Error).

People believe this map does different things:
1) Adds fuel based on a differential MAP reading.
2) Modifies Tip-In fuel based on the difference between actual and target MAP.

What I know: This table was decreased by 50% and my AFRs are still the same on a spoolup. Grrrr.

What gets me is that I can floor the car ... the car is fine ... until I hit max boost. So, if it were a standard TPS-related tip-in issue then I would see the problem right away. But I don't. I see it at max boost.

I was thinking if it compared map to target then you could play with the table so the values on the left (least error) had the least amount of correction and the values on the right (most error) had the most correction.

Leaving it the same number across the board is the part that I'm having a problem understanding.

Are you saying that you detected no change when you modified these values from stock?

I modified the FIBET across the board as per Cobb's recommendation. Furthermore, it's nice to modify a whole table sometimes when you are poking around (of course, that can be a bad thing too). My point is, I modified the whole table to -80% (25). Thus, I should have seen something somewhere because I know for a fact that I changed the correct values in that table because I changed the whole freaking table - lol.

I haven't had these values stock in the long time. I had them set to -30% due to the fact that the nismo/jecs injectors are about 30% bigger. In any case, that is still a large change from -30% to -80% and my WOT fueling remained the same. Huge rich spike.
