IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | A while back I changed my DBW maps so they would not cut throttle until 7400rpms+, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working. Has anybody else experienced this? The rev limiter is set for 7100/7000 and the AVC-R never reads any peaks above 7300. The DBW map has 100% at 7400 and 25% at 7500. I made the changes in my base map, copied the map to my AP, and reflashed the base map with the AP... then put my old realtime map back on. I also pulled the rom off the ECU and verified with Engenuity that the new DBW map is on there. However, the car is still closing the throttle plate when I hit redline. This is a big problem with hard launches where I'm just burning all 4 off the line, and also during quick shifts. Finally after a lot of datalogging I managed to catch it happening in the logs. Here is a log where it's happening, anybody have any ideas how I can fix this? You can see it close the throttle plate momentarily on the 3-4 shift. No comments on the boost curve please, the avc-r was still learning this is my daily driving 93oct + washer fluid map.Code: Time IAT MAF Boost ThrottleMPH Load IDC RPM KC Timing 09:30.2 106 3.04 0.58 100 17 1.26 21.45 4189 5 37.5 09:30.6 104 3.68 4.79 100 19 1.92 40.56 5138 1.5 29 09:30.9 104 4.16 9.72 100 21 2.61 60.55 5792 6 20.5 09:31.2 102 4.08 21.18 64 25 2.57 5.28 6190 6 27.5 09:31.6 100 2.12 -8.85 10 25 0.55 4.86 5693 0 24 09:31.9 100 3.92 10.44 100 31 2.56 48.24 4916 5.5 11 09:32.3 100 4.34 16.82 100 36 3.27 67.78 5385 6 17.5 09:32.6 99 4.52 21.18 100 40 3.27 72.94 6332 6 22 09:32.9 99 4.56 21.9 100 40 3.1 72.8 6825 6 24.5 09:33.3 99 3.32 -8.41 10 46 0.79 21.16 6198 0 42.5 09:33.6 99 4.06 8.12 100 46 2.05 50.9 6449 2.5 27 09:34.0 99 4.36 19.73 100 52 3.16 66.31 5865 6 18.5 09:34.3 99 4.42 20.74 100 57 3.16 67.69 6102 6 20 09:34.6 99 4.5 21.76 100 60 3.08 69.88 6551 6 23.5 09:35.0 99 4.52 22.19 100 60 2.97 69.93 6829 6 25 09:35.3 97 2.46 -6.67 10 65 0.57 5.69 6673 0 45.5 09:35.7 97 4.04 8.12 100 70 1.9 48.92 6744 2.5 31.5 09:36.0 97 4.08 14.65 34 74 2.84 39.94 5507 6 19 09:36.3 97 4.5 21.61 100 74 3.43 71 5738 6 18.5 09:36.7 97 4.44 21.76 100 76 3.2 65.79 6047 6 19 09:37.0 97 4.46 21.76 100 80 3.17 67.35 6190 6 20.5 09:37.4 95 4.48 22.19 100 84 3.08 69.46 6512 6 23 09:37.7 95 4.52 22.48 100 84 3.08 70.38 6598 6 23.5 09:38.0 93 4.52 22.48 100 88 2.98 70.56 6891 6 25 This ad is not endorsed by this member. See this thread, and the comment from doug @ topspeed on post 14. I'll try bumping the dbw rev limit up another 200rpms, although it shouldn't make a difference. |

| The Next Petter Solberg | Again, maybe I'm missing your point. But it sounds like you agree with me that a rev limit setting of 7100 will cut fuel if the engine hits 7100 RPM. Yet it sounds to me like you are expecting the engine to keep reving higher? With no fuel? I'm confused. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | No. I am expecting the ecu to cut fuel to the injectors instead of slamming the throttle plate closed. When you hit it, it causes a "thud" and a momentary loss of power. Seeing a peak rpm on my avc-r a bit higher than the rev limit is normal from what I've seen on other STI's. As Doug from topspeed mentioned in the link I posted, this is typically caused by setting the rev limit above the dbw limit. However I have the dbw limit set 400rpms above the rev limit, and it continues to close the throttle plate rather than cutting fuel to the injectors, at an rpm below what is set in the dbw map. I don't think it is blasting right past the rev limit... it seems to be ignoring the changes I made to the dbw map or something like that. |

| The Next Petter Solberg | Hmm... Well, all I know is that I set my rev limit to 7500/7250 and my throttle plate starts to close (very slowly) at 7200. This gives me a bit of breathing room and works as I expected. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I wonder if the new DBW table made it to the ECU? Any chance to read the rom currently on the ECU and checking if the changes to the DBW table are there as intended? Wow that was a dumb one on my part. That's what happens when you read a post in the morning and reply to it in the afternoon without re-reading. Last edited by benton0311; 10-07-2006 at 07:44 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Not power shifting, just shifting fast. No problems if I shift slowly. I get the same thing if I try to launch the car and burn all 4 tires. I'm going to try rebuilding my map from scratch to see if I get the same problems. I had some odd things going on with my AP a while back with flashing base maps and wouldn't be surprised if some logic is goofed up somewhere. Might as well try doing it all with Engenuity this time, seeing as my map is "stable" and has been "safe" from 18-26psi. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Oh and this seems to have started before the lightweight flywheel went on, but sometime after the GT35R went on. The DBW table in my base map was modified by christian @ cobb back before we could do it in StreetTuner. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
