IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Hi... I just updated my webpage to detail tuning tips for StreetTUNER. I am still working on a 93 octane map but.. with it I ran 12.88 @ 105.35 with a 1.800 60' time. If you are looking for tuning information and tips, feel free to check out my site. Here are a couple of links: Direct to my StreetTUNER page: http://n8rws.com/subaru%20warning.htm Index to my website: http://N8RWS.COM <!-- / message --> This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | Hey man, enjoyed you street tuner right up, learned a good bit and helped clear up some fuzzy areas for me. Few things, your IDC's seem to get pretty high in the first 4 gears, but manage to stay lower in 5th gear... why is this? Also, do you know if can tune on top of a Pro-tuned map? My pump gas pro tune map likes to knock in lower rpm high load situations...i am thinking about picking up a street tuner just to datalog, but if i could i would go in a richen the map up in a few areas(or decrease timing depending on how the idc's look. |

Actually.. my IDC's are a big topic of discussion between my STI friends in MI. All of them run over 100% during a good pass... no-one can figure out why I am only running in the mid 90's at an AFR of 11.1 to 1 Take care.. jb

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (12) | I was seeing about the same IDC's as TQ before my alky went in. @ a 10.9 afr at redline I was seeing around 100% but after I got my intake and leaned it out to 11.1~11.2 the dropped to 90~95%. Now with alky I am only seeing 80% and am loving every bit of my gas mileage. |

What mileage are you getting? A couple of tanks ago I got 26 but that is rare (must have lapsed into a light foot coma for one tank I guess :-)

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (12) | On a heavy foot all city stop and go traffic I can get about 300 as opposed the <250 I was getting before. Highway I can get close to 400 depending on the conditions. To drop IDC's 20% just goes to show how much fuel I pull and am saving. To give you an idea of how much I am pulling I have 14.7 down to 3600 rpm and am still getting a 10.8~10.9 afr which I would pull more but the stock ecu will only let you go so far. At redline I have 13.6 listed and am pulling a 11.1:1 afr. Best mod I have gotten to date. Makes tuning fun again |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (12) | I really dont have one. I didnt tune my map overly aggressively for DD and my racemap really isnt over the top as well. If you know your car you will be able to tell if anything goes wrong and all you have to do is not go into boost and you will be fine. With alky/water mix you really are not able to extract a whole lot more timing out of the map, but you can safely raise boost 2-3psi. The only part I am ever worried about is how much fuel is pulled to get my desired AFR at WOT but if you know something is wrong, keeping out of boost will be fine since those low load points are not drastically/at all changed. I am planning on tuning some new maps using 100% alky and 100% meth to see how much timing I can get in as well as a map using c16 and one of the above (which ever more I can tune more aggressively) for the track. With a 12.2 already achieved using the max. abilities of a 50/50 mix maybe some amazing driving can somehow get me in the 11's on the stock turbo I plan on testing this all out on a dyno first to make sure its done right before I get to the track and push the stocker to its limits. I may need a new EBCS since the stocker won't let me push the boost I want to see at the track. Yes it is turning into a flamethrower but the alky is changing it right back Im not too worried about it going since I got some nice new parts waiting in the garage for next season. I just want to see what the stock vf-39 can really do (maybe with an external WG) before I go for real big power. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | If you wanna see what the stock turbo can really do then install the APS Turbo Inlet tube, some TGV deletes, and an APS Header. You'll get more airflow in, and more airflow out. Also consider moving up to the APS 70mm CAI (or a custom no name big maf CAI). Can you tell what my plan is? I'm looking for some crazy stock turbo performance too (but without meth and just straight 93).t |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (12) | Haha, I had thought about the inlet but figured I would wait until I upgrade turbos and everything is apart. I am actually really thinking about the 70mm CAI but its hard to source and my Typhoon is doing its job obviously. As for the headers, I was going to go with a P&P coated stocker but who knows, if you can't tell by now when I see a deal I have paypal bookmarked :O stupid mod bug. One thing holding me back from getting the 70mm is tuning it. I absolutely hate tuning intakes and you should see my fuel trims when the juice hits it. P.S. Its technically still straight 93 if your only injecting h2o |

No. But, it is in the plans I don't expect anything spectacular from my numbers. I'm a conservative tuner and my numbers will reflect that. That's another reason to do all the bolt-ons ![]() My APS DR525 is on the way and I have my TGV deletes sitting here. Knowing me, I won't go to the track until all the parts I have sitting here are installed. t This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad.
