| Junior STI Driver | I have a Knocklight set to sensativity of 5. I usually get at least 1 amber light when going through a WOT pull. But looking through all my ST logs I don't find any knock events. I know that I can lower the sensetivity of the Knocklite and figure since they are looking at the same source as long as nothing shows up in the ST logs I should be ok. Is my thinking off? IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I have mine also set to 5, I'm using the standalone bosch sensor. I get an occasional orange flash as well. With it set to 4 it flashed all the time, and at 6 it never flashed. So I put it to 5 and told myself that if it flashes more than once per gear I will let out of it. Your ST logs will rarely show knock since the engine has to be knocking right as ST is polling the ECU in order for it to show up in the logs. A better indicator is to know what your dynamic advance should be at a given rpm/load and watch for the ECU pulling timing. When I revamped my ignition maps I set my dynamic advance values to be all the same from 4k/2.5 load and up, so it's easy to see if the ECU is pulling timing by just glancing at the logs. |

| Professional STI Racer | The stock ECU is ****ing deaf when it comes to det. I was having "audible" det at the track last month. Switched over to the Utec and it disapeared. Any othe knock detection will be much much better than the stock ECU. At least until Cobb gives us the tables to change the sensitivity. TMS This ad is not endorsed by this member.
