Default Does Street Tuner require a laptop?

I was interested in getting the street tuner software but I'm figuring that you must have a laptop. Can it be used with a pc?

Yes you can definitely install street tuner on a PC, so you're in luck.

The thing is that a PC is not 'portable', so if you need to bring your PC to your car, that might be a problem. You'll have to figure out if you need to have the computer in your car to tune, that will decide it for you.

The only way I see if being possible to actually tune is if you have a PDA or something that you can data-log in and then make changes on your desktop and repeat the process over and over until you are satisfied (which will be never as I have learned since you get addicted ). I would say purchase an old model labtop that you will only use to log and tune, or get a PDA that has the ability to log. One more option that I recently read about was this ODBII plug that logs data and then when you are ready to review it, you pull the plug and plug it into your computer and it uploads all the data to your comp. http://www.davisnet.com/drive/produc...p_products.asp
One more way to log is through your cell phone. There are various programs out that allow your cell phone to act as a scan gauge and log. You do lose the live tuning and tracing functions which are probably one of the best features of the software, but it will work out with a little more time and effort into tuning.

You could hook up a bluetooth obd interface like this one called Car-Pal and datalog through that link to your desktop.
