Default Free StreetTUNER 101, 102, 103, & 104 classes...

I knew I would get your attention

I have two things I would like to communicate with you.

1st - I have one update I wanted to communicate with you. A few people have reported connectivity issues with the wideband devices. We were able to duplicate the problem and provide a solution. Please see the following thread for download and installation: http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ulti...=000289#000000

If you have no connectivity issues, you have no reason to update the files.

2nd - We are also going to put together various free StreetTUNER classes and I wanted to ask some of the current ST users for their input. The ultimate goal is to host these classes live via the web so all can attend...as long as the class size does not exceed the maximum allowed. This would involve a very graphically based, free EFI 101 class with web based testing. You must submit your answers to the free portion of the testing and get at least 80% correct answers before you are eligible for the ST101, ST101, ST103, & ST104 classes.

I would like these classes to be able to be web cast so that our end users can log in and attend the class w/o the expense of travel. I should be able to field questions from you guys (and girls) via IM or e-mail, etc. The logistics of which will be figured out once we are closer to opening the school The idea is to host a EFI 101 class that has a test at the end of the online coarse that must be passed with an 80% score or better. Then the ST101, 102...classes could follow as you register. Below is an initial plan for the class layout. Please let me know if this initial sylabus/class matter looks appropriate. I would rather answer the questions you immediately had in the first class, then build our way up to advanced tuning. Make sense?

ST 101
1) AP function, operation, & navigation.
2) Map Manager function, operation, & navigation.
3) StreetTUNER GUI Introduction, basic navigation, COM port configuration, connecting to your AP, connecting to your vehicle, etc.
3) Review of short-cut keys.
4) Datalogging, how to start, where to save, hot to view.
5) Review the difference between Base maps and Realtime maps.

ST 102
1) Interperating datalogs. Organizing datalogs. What is each variable that can be dataloged. Table of definitions for all dataloggable variables.
2) What temperatures are too high, too low, BAD, etc.
3) How the Subaru factory boost control system works. Boost Targets table, WGDC table(s), Turbo Dynamics tables.
4) How Subarus fuel calculations work. Fuel Injector Scaler, Latency, Intake Calibration (tuning for aftermarket intakes), etc.
5) How Subarus ignition calculations work, Dynamic Advance & Dynamic Advance Multiplier explained.
6) Live Tracing demonstration.

ST 103
1) Advanced interfacing with external WBO2 devices, etc.
2) Basic usage of OpenOffice “AccessECU Calibration & Tuning Guide Worksheet for Subarus”
3) Tuning of the factory boost control system using the StreetTUNER software.
4) Tuning of the factory fuel system using the StreetTUNER software.
5) Tuning of the factory ignition system using the StreetTUNER software.
6) Modifying your calibrations based on datalog interpretation and mechanical feedback.

ST 104
1) Advanced system set up, etc. external wastegates, larger than stock turbos, built motors, etc.
2) Advanced usage of OpenOffice “AccessECU Calibration & Tuning Guide Worksheet for Subarus”
3) Establishing a calibration and tuning for larger fuel injectors using the StreetTUNER software.
4) Tuning of the factory ignition system using the StreetTUNER software for larger than stock turbos, built motors, etc.
5) Tuning for high octane fuels.
6) Modifying your calibrations based on datalog interpretation and mechanical feedback.

I will look for your feedback on this thread.

Thanks ahead for your time,
Christian.

I was lucky enough to catch your Street Tuner class at XX Tuning, but this sounds great (especially now that I have more experience).

Count me in! Maybe one more section you could add is tuning in ProTUNER / Advance StreetTUNER since from what I hear (just assuming) they will have pretty much the same amount of tables. Since now I am pretty familar with the current tables, I feel like when this upgrade comes out, most people will not know how to approach tuning these other maps. I know after getting a peak at Doug's ProTUNER interface, the software looks crazy (in a good way)! ST looks like it has barely any tables compared to PT (looks to be about 50%). I know I am excited for it to come out, and getting some lessons and a head start on it wouldn't hurt at all

Looks great Christian. Would be nice to be able to jump over ST 101 at least (or more as the persons needs/knowledge dictate). Though I can understand the desire to be absolutely sure that everyone knows what they are doing.

I'm very interested!!! I'm going to be a true beginner to tuning and ST. The course schedule looks pretty logical. Where do we sign up!?

I am interested in purchasing StreetTUNER but am hesitant to start messing around with things. These classes would certainly help me make an informed decision about the purchase and any future use of the product. I'd be in on this, if I can pass the preliminary exam!
