IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | I've worked with Christian (Cobb's tuner) with regard to injector tuning. Not that THAT means anything. However, it does indicate that I am aware of what you are saying but am telling you something more What I am saying above is true. To run the correct scalar you need to get enough fuel into the motor at idle to keep it running. The car isn't getting enough fuel at idle because the latency values are too low.Last thing - it doesn't matter to me how you end up running your injectors. I am just telling you that in order to use the appropriate scalar and bring your WOT AFRs to where they were before, then you need to lower your scalar. If you lower your scalar then you need to raise your latency to make sure the car gets enough fuel at idle. Simple as that (or clear as mud depending on how you look at it). Choice is yours ![]() No matter what, I'll be tuning these injectors the week of June 12th. I'll report back what I come up with. t This ad is not endorsed by this member. | Junior STI Driver | Wolf I am not arguing with you, questioning your knowledge or saying you are wrong, please don't think that. Just pointing out what the guide says and the fact that it leads to some confusion as what you are saying to do actually makes more sence from the stand point that if I keep it as it is now at 3268 my actual AFR's are always going to be off about .05 from what is in the fuel table which to me does not seem right. I will got back and start at 3120 and adjust my latency to get down to +/-5% and let you know what I get. Thanks for the help. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | It's cool with me if you ARE arguing and it's cool if you are NOT arguing. It's all good ![]() I said what I said above in order to get your WOT AFRs to where they were PREVIOUSLY. I am not stating that you should lower your scalar and raise your latency in order to bring the fuel map within line. If you want to do it for that reason, feel free. However, I am only saying it so that you end up with the same WOT fueling AFR (wideband) as compared to what you had before. 0.05? Dude, that is totally fine. Did you mean 0.50? My fueling targets in my AFR map were off by about 1.2 totally STOCK. I redid my scaling when I put the new injectors in and now the fuel map is off by about 0.3 or so. t Quote:

| Junior STI Driver | lol .5 sry not .05, they are running around 10.5-10.6 and I was 10.8-11 before so even less then .5, still I would like to see if I can get it to work with a scaler that is closer to 3120. |

| Junior STI Driver | Well I set it back to 3120, my latency s are now 6/7.8, 9/2.81, 12/1.65, 14/1.19 and 16/.78. Not sure how close the 6, 9 and 16 are since I can't force the voltage to that but the 12 and 14 give me a learned of .39 at idle with the correction going between -1.19 to 1.19, idle is good too. Be interested in what you get when you get yours installed. |

Edit: Some info for anyone who discovers they have this same issue using Perrin injectors. After having previously read through as many injector threads as I could without finding an actual consensus on the latency issue, I searched again, and eventually stumbled upon the stock injector latency test results Wolfplayer posted in another Helix injector thread. Using those as a starting point, I went ahead and adjusted my latency values. My scale number is now where it should be, and my A/F numbers at WOT are close enough (on the rich side) for me. So anyone running stock STi sidefeed injectors may benefit from adjusting their latency table. My apologies to the thread starter for slightly diverging from the thread topic (Helix latency tuning).
