Any difference in the software between years??

A friend of mine has the street tuner for his 04 sti, and I have a 06. He went UTEC and no longer needs the software. My question is... Is there a difference in the software depending on the year of the application?? Thanks for you help.

Yes, there is. '04 will only work with '04 maps ... so on and so forth. Furthermore, different years seem to have slightly different maps.
