IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (6) | I seem to have messed up and changed something on my street tuner that will not allow me to connect to my ecu. I believe what I did was changed the Data Timeout and Retries Under Edit/Configure Options. I can't recall what it was before I changed it. Does anybody know what the default values are or if this could even be the cause of the computer not being able to connect to the ecu? Thanks. This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (6) | I think I know what is wrong. The retry count is set to zero and I can't change it back to anything else. The error message given in the log file indicates the retry count was exceeded so I am reasonably sure that this is my problem. So now my question becomes how can I get the retry set back to default (for some reason it is at zero and will not allow me to change it)? |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2004 Trader Rating: (1) | data time out stock is 150 and retry is 5. Make sure your using 4800 baud rate, as 9600 didnt seem to work for me on my IBM t20 laptop. Make sure your windows start>settings>control pannel>system>hardware>device mgr>com port properties, match with ST application. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (6) | wrxsti03, I looked at the comport settings and I don't think that is the problem. I believe that the problem is the retry. It is set at zero and I can't change it from zero. If anybody has any advice on how to solve this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (6) | okay, I have fixed the problem after several hours of trying and communicating w/ cobb (good service by the way). The problem is that if retries are accidentally set to zero you will not be able to change it from zero because of a bug in the registry. The fix for this involves changing settings in the registry. So, the moral of the story is don't touch the retry setting. I hope my stupid mistake will prevent someone else from making the same mistake. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
