Sorry if that was confusing. It is just the way I look at it, just a bit different than the way someone else may.
In regards to the safety of the stock map. I rev to 7500 and want the throttle to stay open all the way to the rev limit. I use the rev limit as my "saftey".
I also have a map with the table #'s equal to the column header #'s. I haven't tried yet, but I don't think I will like it.

TMS
A) I see what you mean by TPSin and TPSout. Yea, different way of looking at it However, it's still TPS vs. RPMs

B) I use the Rev limit as my main safety too. The TPS thing is a secondary safety. Theoretically, it should never be hit. HOWEVER, I'm paranoid and it makes me feel better to know that it is still there. You could do the same thing by setting a 7600 rev limit and then setting this table up for a 7700->100% TPS but then having a 7800->5% TPS.

C) I wouldn't recommend table #'s equal to the column header #'s. That would be way too sluggish. I didn't do that on my new setup and I would NOT recommend it. I think I have 10% TPSin = 20% TPSout ... instead of 30%. I then tweaked the rest of the map. I can post up my full table along with the rescaling (fully rescaled also) if you are interested.

so on these maps if you apply 10% throttle you get 10% throttle plate open? 15% 15% etc?

they need a single user version of the protuner!

B&C
I do not have direct access to the throttle map.
I had to have a pro tuner edit the maps for me and I don't like streaching favors to far. If I had access to the map directly I would spend some time on it and custom tune it to my setup. IMO I would rather have the rev limit as my primary over rev control. I know having the throttle close before the rev limit is easier on the motor, but "I" like a solid feed back to the the rev limit. I would rather hit the limit and have the throttle open when drag racing.

TMS - you misunderstood me (my fault, I changed my wording above to make it clearer). I agree fully with your statement above. My rev limit is my MAIN safety. The Throttle Position is my SECONDARY safety. Rev Limit is at 7000. TPS Limit is after 7100.

No

I did not post that map, sorry for the confusion. The only change to the TPS map in the posted maps is that the throttle does not close at redline.

That is the way I will set it up when I have access to the map full time, instead of relying on other people to make the changes for me. For now I am very happy that the throttle stays open until the redline that "I" set.

Word

I really wish Cobb would release the next version of StreetTUNER with some more of the base maps. I know the 2006 has more base maps in it than the 2005 version (like Max Airflow, etc).

Hi TMS,

I have Street Tuner - can I take the map you posted and change the fuel, ignition and boost fields to match those in the map I am currently running? That way, I get my tuning and your TPS fix and BLS setting.

Thanks,

GR

If you do that make sure all the scales(ie. rpm, load) are changed as well.

I have been looking through these maps and have a few questions about putting them to use.

First is on the boost map it looks to be rescaled to go to 7500 RPM but the Revlimit is still 7k, does this have to do with the TPS fix? I also noticed this on the WDC High and Low Mpas as well.

Next the rescaled loads in Primary Fuel, DA A B C and Primary Ignition maps. Lets say on my map the last column (15) is 2.75, on the rescale the 12th is 2.8 os as a start would i migrate my values that are in the 2.75 column of my map to the 2.8 on the rescaled map? Then do the same for the other ones that match up? Then would i just leave the last 3 same as the what will be in the 2.8 or possible knock the vlues down for timing and up for gas a little to be safe, then log and go from there?

I would say the easiest way to use these maps without a total retune, is to copy your entire base map into the ones I have posted. That includes all scaling and tables.

The main reason I posted these maps is to give people semi acess to tables that ST can not change. So it doesn't matter what you do in ST, it won't change the Boost Low Speed, Boost Low Speed Multiplier, or the TPS table.

The reason I left the Rev limit at 7000 is, I feel it is up to the owner of the car to spin any higher than stock.
Personally I feel:
Stock motor=stock rev limit
forged piston and pin set=a little higher because most aftermarket pins are a lot lighter than stock.
Fully built, balanced and blue printed=ask the builder and add 500. Or until the valves float.
