Default Problems with AccessTuner and LC-1 ... serial port crash

I've got a Dell Inspiron running win98SE.

I have logworks 2.0 installed and connecting to an LC-1 over a keyspan usb-serial adapter. It works great using the logworks software. (COM4)

I have AccessTuner connecting to the car via OBD2 cable on built-in serial (COM1). AccessTuner also works great on its own.

But, when I have both devices connected, AccessTuner crashes when trying to connect to the ECU. The program hangs or quits and leaves COM4 open.

I've tried swapping com ports without success. I also called Cobb and spoke to christian who basically said he can't help me because it's not Cobb's problem. I could understand if the AccessTuner errored out with a communication failure error, but a hard crash doesn't seem like very graceful failure behavior.

I know I've heard of people getting such a setup working. Any suggestions?

fixed. strangely enough reverting to an ?older? version of the DLL corrected the problem. I was running the latest rev 1.5.x of ST but going back to a DLL dated 07/2005 works.

The only thing I changed was the way the .dll file depended upon the MSVC libraries. It could be an incompatibility between Win98SE and the static link. It should have worked just fine still. I'll rebuild it the other way and have Christian get it to you and we can see if it works.

You aren't missing anything running that older file. Nobody else has experienced it because the new file was only recently uploaded so most people have the older file.

can we get some version info with these files so we know which is which? I've got several iterations of the dll laying around just incase I need to go back to something.

I have e-mailed you with the latest .dll file for the LC-1 that Jon wrote. Please let me know how it works via e-mail. I will be out of town teaching an EFI Calibration class at Mustang Dynamometer until next week so my responses may be a little slow.

Take care,
Christian.

I'll work towards versioning them. It shouldn't be hard at all.
