Default Can a Protuned AP work with Street Tuner?

I have the Street Tuner software (and love it), but am getting my car ProTuned on Saturday.
Before everyone jumps on the wagon & says "why would you do that, this is the reason for Street Tuner..etc.". The reason is simple, I want to see if Doug from Top Speed can make it better. The car has been Dynoed at TurboTrix @ 400WHP & 380WTQ and it runs great. It's going to be interesting to see what it baselines at XX tunings Dyno compared to TurboTrix dyno & see if Doug can make any significant improvements.
Well, to the root of my question. Will I still be able to use my Street Tuner software at all? I would like to be able to make tweaks come summer time, or if I add anything in the future, etc.. Does anyone have an idea about this?
There was nothing on the Cobb site that I saw.

Just in case anyone needs this information in the future, you need to unmarry your Street Tuner from the Access Port before you can get a Pro-Tune.
I found this out the hard way when the car was on the dyno & Doug from Top Speed was trying to load maps onto the AP. We decided to just go ahead & use my laptop & the street tuner because there was still a few other cars to do & it was getting late.
He got very good results with the street tuner & the few parameters he could not set with the ST he could with the PT software on his laptop by taking the map, making changes & putting it back on my laptop. So in the end it worked out.

So what did you end up changing that ST couldn't?

Ok, so your problem was already having ST and then getting tuned. What about getting a Pro-tune and then getting ST? I plan to get pro-tuned in March by Doug, but at some time I might want to get ST. Will that wipe out my pro-tune? or will I be able to use and modify the pro-tuned maps?

See if he would be willing to save the file in the ST format also.

Well, since you have to unmarry the ST from the AP I don't think you can use the PT map once you marry it back up.
Like STirish says, you can ask the Protuner to save it as a ST map (which is kinda what Doug did for me) but some tuners may be a little hesitant to do this, reason being now you can see the changes he made. Many tuners like to keep this information secret. Doug was very cool about it.
As far as what other parameters that we did not have, from what I remember, there was some knock & timing tables I did not see & one other one that he said was important that I cannot remember at the moment, I will edit if I recall it (AVCS maybe?).

ok, assuming he would save it as a ST map... what if I haven't purchased ST yet at the time of the tune? Does that cause any problems? Would I still be able to use the ST version map even though I don't yet own ST, and then when I do buy ST would there be any problems setting it up?

Thanks
(I'm sure this info is probably on the Cobb site, but I don't have time to go searching for it)

The tuner would have to save the map as a Street Tuner Base (.STB) map in order for it to work with the Street Tuner program. I think most tuners would be a bit reluctant to save their maps as .STB's b/c then anyone with street tuner could look at their maps & see what changes they have made. Tuners for the most part are a bit secretive about their work.

FYI, the guys at XX Tuning had some trouble doing this. They said they'd have to just tune using my laptop because street tuner wasn't reading their protunes saved as street tunes...

That should not be the case. I will contact XX Tuning to make sure all is working well for them.

Christian,
When I had my car tuned by Doug @ Top Speed he could not hook up to my ECU with his Protuner software. He tuned my car with my laptop using the Street Tuner software. So, do you need to unmarry the Street Tuner in order to get Pro Tuned?
He was able to change some key parameters with the PT software & save it as a ST map on my comp & then do the rest of the tune with my laptop hooked up to my car. So I was still able to take advantage of some of the added tuning abilities from the PT, but probably not all of them.??
