Default DAM and Learned Knock

OK, Flamesuit is going on here.

Just thinking outloud on this.

If the DAM is maxed out and the learned knock table is not populated with negative numbers does that mean that the tune is not producing unsafe levels of knock?

I've read that there is an RPM window that the knock sensor is active but I don't know if that applies to the STi.

If it does apply to the STi can we assume that my first statement is correct for the active RPM or load range? and what is the range the sensor is active?

I have had knock mostly in the 1.2 load column from 3000-4200. It is rare to see it in the upper loads rpms. However this is since the ambient temp has been 80 or less when the update came out. With emails from Christian he believes a lot of this is piston noise because 50% of my knock events are at throttle openings at 25% or less.

I have had negatives as far down as the .90 2400 cell so I know it works on the bottom end of the scale.

Now tuning for a minimum number of knock events is something we do on racing engines. But I would never do anything close for a daily driver.
