Default Why no Stage 3 AP maps yet?

Hi everyone getting my AP and street tuner S/W on Tuesday and I was wondering why there are no STAGE 3 maps yet for the AP? Is this due to everyone just tuning their own with the Street Tuner S/W? Would love to see a STAGE 3 for an 05 STI with CAI, TBE, headers and stock turbo....

what exactly is included in a "stage 3" car? looks like the list of mods you have there is stage 2 + CAI, which cobb will never release a map for, unless it is their intake. you could run the stage 2 map and risk the CAI, the headers are within stage 2.

Cobb’s intake should not need any tuning as there *should* be no flow interruptions around the MAF

Stage blablabla. Someone said it well above - 'What is stage 3?' ... lol. Your mods are Cobb's Stage 2 setup. Cobb's Stage 3 will be their top mount intercooler and a bigger turbo (where the key here is the bigger turbo that will be VERY specific).

Don't look for a stage 3 for an STI from Cobb anytime soon. The WRX VF34 guys running Cobb's Stage 2-1/2 have been waiting on one forever ... and they already have the turbo picked out. Cobb hasn't truly mentioned to the public about which turbo they will even use for the STI stage 3. Last I heard, it was going to be a PE1820. But, that was a LONG time ago.

If you feel so inclined ... post your map. We'll tell you what they did wrong ... and what they did right. There's no black magic in a 'custom tune' for those that know what they are doing and it won't be something that I haven't seen before.

yeah how true. My bad on wording...I dont know why I am a bit upset with Cobb because they want you to run their intake and suggested turbo. Not like we all havent gone through that with Microsoft for many years right?

Just would be a better product base if they desinged maps that used some of the more common parts we all own from intakes to turbos....

cobb has not changed their tune on what maps are going to be available for the AP since the beginning, even with the wrx, so if you don't like their products, or their "stage" path, don't buy an AP. i can understand people being frustrated with how long the ST took to release, but now that it is out, they have the best EM solution IMHO.

there are really no "common" parts, there are so many options out for the wrx/sti, there is no way cobb could release a good, safe map for all combinations, their time is better spent developing and releasing more features for the ST!

with the relase of the protuner and streettuner, i doubt that cobb will release anything above stg 2 for the sti. Stage 3 for the wrx will just be with their TMIC. When you start varing injectors, turbo's, and what not you really need a custom tune to have your car run at its best potential. Look how many maps there are for stg 1 & 2 - hwg, lwg, cali. With a big turbo all of the factors are too different to release an off the shelf map for everyone. Just upgrade your setup and take your car to the nearest Protuner...

Yeah very true! I love the AP and will be getting the street tuner s/w very soon. Good friends are protuners so I am covered. I agree that is the best way to go all around...
