Default Stage 1 Gas Milage? Economy Mode??

Hey guys, I am somewhat un-educated on the AP stuff and was wondering what the gas milage was like. Given these days you have to chop off an arm for a few gallons of gas, I was wondering what the economy mode on it was like. Also, has anyone gotten away with reflashing back to stock before major warrenty work?
Thanks for the help in advance.

Since this is a StreetTUNER forum ... I say make your own economy map I took a look at Cobb's STI economy map (got a sneak peak - THANKS TO YOU KNOW WHO!). From what I saw, any of us could put one together like this. Turn your target boost to zero. Turn all your WGDC maps to zero. Then add a degree or two of ignition advance. That's it. I took this a step further with my current map. My WGDC maps are set to zero across the board except for 80% throttle. Thus, when I am WOT it runs like a raped ape. But, when I am part throttle the ECU is doing nothing to help raise boost levels. Economy with Stage II power - lol. Besides changing part throttle WGDC values, I also went into Dynamic Advance A/B and added between 3-4 degrees of ignition advance in the low-mid RPMs at very light load (cruising loads/RPMs). I also started upshifting as much as possible. Yea, 6th gear at 40mph. Basically, any gear that I use to use ... I now am using at least one gear higher. Long story short ... I do all city driving. I was getting like ~16mpg. This recent fill up netted me 18.0 mpg. With a 15 gallon tank that makes an extra 30 miles to the tankful. That's like $5.50 with current gas prices. For me, that means about $17/month. Is $17/month worth it? I don't know. But it does mean I get to go out to lunch like 3 times that I wasn't able to do before. Yes, I know it is rather silly to be worrying about gas mileage on a car like the STI. It's a performance car. However, this was more about me experimenting with the programming than anything else. The extra 3 lunches a month ... well ... that was like a side bonus. Keep in mind that it wasn't the programming that netted me all of increase because I am now upshifting a lot more. The real test would be highway driving ... but I don't really do much of it. t

I'd like to have a lean-burn cruise, but ST can't target AFR's leaner than 14.7

I've been collecting data on STi and fuel consumption. See my sig for the thread. There is also a thread in the FAQ section.

Reports I have so far for Cobb Stage 1 fuel mileage are that it has no noticeable effect plus or minus.

I'm with you on this one Jay!!!!!

There is a thread on NABISCO about ECUTek now having this functionality. So, if ECUTek has it ... then the stock ECU has it .... which means that StreetTUNER should definitely be able to have it!!!!! Felp!
