IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | Well I do. Take a look at the logs. I am attempting to build up some boost. My wastegate is over ported. I was using the rescaled stage 2 v1.10 map. Thanks Wolfplayer The first log is stock w/ 75% across the board for WDC, second is 80%, third is 85%. You can see KNOCK on the first run. On the second you can see dynamic advanced is pulled big time with negative values. For the third the ECU is already adding timing back in with the same or more being run with higher boost level. Any ideas on what map to change to keep this from happening again? The timing seems to be coming back up to the same level right away. The first two runs were within 10 seconds of each other. The third was about 5 minutes later. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Junior STI Driver | I'll need to look at some things, but, it seems your total timing at 4000 RPMs is awfully high. The 3500-4500 range is where you are making peak power, too advanced timing at that point will result in knock. |

| Junior STI Driver | I just took a look at my timing on some runs, and while I don't have that RPM range, I do have a data point at 4000, where I'm around 19.5 total timing. Taking a look at your logs, your highest engine load at that point as well. I'd say take some timing away in that area. I also took a look at what I'm running, v1.04 stage2 base timing. If the ECU happens to pull from dynamic table B, at 4000 RPM, you could actually see 22.94 total advance at the peak VE for our engines. I'm not sure, but, I think this calls for a |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I run 17-17.5 degrees around 4000rpm, I see no problems besides the fact that it is running too much timing in that area. Did you do an ECU reset before these runs? I would expect the motor to knock a bit after a reset when the ECU is running max timing. I suggest to pull some timing in the 3800-4800 range and add some in the 5000-6000 range (on the dynamic advance A table). Also, decrease the polling interval so there aren't so many duplicate logging entries. For the over-ported wastegate you could try a helper spring on the wastegate arm, I can send you some pics of my setup if you like. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | I did just do a ECU reset. I like the ECU safety factor. After seeing knock the ECU pulled 4 degrees of timing. What I can not understand is just 3 minutes later I was able to pull more timing 21.5 vs. 19.5 at the same boost level of 17.26. And the same timing 19.5 at more boost 17.26 vs. 17.69 without knock. I have made a map that pulls some timing out of these areas. More testing is in order. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | Last nights testing was good. No more knock or negative DAM. Timing is pulling up to about 18 in this area now. My next thing to fix is a 20-30% throttle stumble at 2400-2550 rpm. The low engine load ignition maps in this area actually drop in value from the cells to the right and left. It think this is the culprit. I will test at lunch and have additioal information. While driving it basically feels like I pulled back on the throttle and the car just hesitates. If I use enough throttle to increase the engine load there is no problem. Anyone else find this? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
