Default STi dip in load around 4k RPMs?

Hey Guys,

I have been taking a look at other STi's dyno plots and have noticed a flat spot and sometimes a dip around 4k RPMs. Given this I have also notices a flat spot in my load curves around the same area. Anyone else get this?

Rob

I just looked through some of my logs, and yes, I do see a slight dip right around 3800-4000 RPMs.

I mapped ignition timing for the same RPM range, and what I'm seeing is a considerable jump in timing right as we approach this RPM. In my case, it increases from 12 BTDC to 20 BTDC from 3700RPM to 4128RPM. This is pretty consistent across all the runs I logged. In fact, if you look, it seems to be the single largest jump in timing across the whole RPM range.

Anyone know what (if any) detrimental effects sudden (and large) increases in timing have?

Like I've said before, I'm a total NEWB on this stuff, so, I could be looking at irrelvant data.
