Default 1/4 mile results with rescaled map (Thanks Wolfplayer:-)

I had a very good trip to the track today. I was using the rescaled maps (from Wolfplayer) with my very slight tune. Keep in mind that my STI was a sled from the factory... best time stock was 13.51 @ 98.78 MPH. NOTE.. for some reason, all stock STI's run mid to high 13's at this track (US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin MI).
Anyway... my pre tune datalogging told the story of rich rich rich... I was seeing AFR values at 10 to 1 at WOT.

My tune was just in the areas of high WGDC and primary fuel. I did NOT mess with timing. Basically, I am achieving boost values of 17.5 in the high gears mid RPM tapering to 13.78 at redline. I adjusted the AFR to lean things up to 11.2 by redline.

Here are the key results:
  • Best tuned ET = 13.21 (1.79 60')
  • Best and consistent tuned MPH = 102.73 (2.000 60')
  • My best time stock was 13.51 @ 98.78MPH
  • My best time with just the Cobb CAT downpipe was 13.30 @ 100.93
  • My best time with Cobb DP, Accessport Stage2 93 HWG map was 13.32 @ 100.19MPH
By leaning out the mix I gained trap speed. I had incredible trouble hooking up at the launch... I was smoking the tires almost every run (we are talking sideways off the launch here.. not just chirping).

I plan to lean up the mix a bit more and work on the launch in hopes of getting closer to the 12's

What DCCD setting do you use?

I used full rear DCCD for the first couple of trips to the track but when I started to have trouble spinning at the launch I switched to auto. I get incredible wheel spin off launch no matter what setting DCCD is in

I am running the stock tires & wheels.. I am starting to wonder if the tires are too hard?

FYI.. I even tried doing a burnout just after the water box to get the tires hot... no workie...

How do you do a burn out in an AWD car with out killing the diffs?

More seriously though, what is your tire pressure set to, front/rear? I'm just surprised to see you run ~98mph stock at 400ft.

Yea, the thought of doing a burnout made me cringe too... but dirty tires spin easy, I just do it enough to "clean them off".

My tire pressure is at 35psi each.

Try a little less pressure and DCCD set to lock *YOU MUST TURN THE DCCD OFF LOCK BEFORE TURNING AROUND AT THE OTHER END*

Try using the the Boost Low-speed & Boost Low-speed Multiplier tables to run less boost at lower MPH until you start getting consistent 60' times...you and your drivetrain will appreciate it.

^ Do we have those options with the StreetTuner? I thought they were Pro-Tuner only?

FWIW, I run 42 front / 39 rear tire pressure cold and launch with the DCCD in manual/open, but this only brings good results when the track is sticky.

Where does one find those tables? Sound like PT tables?

Oops, they are...I apologize for getting your hopes up. Regardless here are the table descriptions =

Boost Low-speed -
Applies the Boost Low-Speed multiplier against the Boost Targets until this speed has been exceeded. Used to reduce the amount of boost run in lower gears (speed). Setting to 0 will eliminate this feature.

Boost Low-speed Multiplier -
Value multiplied against the Boost Targets until this Boost Low-Speed value has been exceeded. A value of 1.0 will not alter the boost targets, even if the Boost Low-Speed value has not yet been met. To reduce boost, a value less between 0.0 and 1.0 should be used, with 0.7 representing 70% of the actual boost target. To increase boost, a value greater than 1.0 should be used.

These table adjustments would be nice for tuning launches IMO.

Interesting. How are the ST maps set in regards to those tables? I assume they use the stock ECU maps, but what sort of values are in there?

Boost Low-speed = 0
Boost Low-speed Multiplier = 1.0
for '04 STi
Boost Low-speed = 25
Boost Low-speed Multiplier = 0.93
for '05 STi

Any chance the ST will get these tables?

Thanks. Wonder if they started using it in the 05 models due to various repair stats? On the other hand, it seems like it would be impossible to get full boost below 25mph (or kph) regardless. Not that I've tried. Maybe towing a 50' yacht?
