IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | I just got my street tuner, now I need to finish the process of aquiring a laptop. Of course, Im also trying to buy wheels, and fund a trip to Lime Rock for the ALMS... Why do I try and do everything at once? |

You should at least understand a bit about tuning yourself so you can have an idea of whether a particular map might destroy your engine or if a map you are running is not acting right, what to do about it. This is one place where blind faith in others can cost you. Not to mention all the variances in a tune for a particular car.If you want street tuner and you don't think you can tune it yourself confidently, then find a professional tuner to do the tune for you using street tuner. Just MHO, oc. | |

| Amateur STI Driver | 1) Is anyone running big turbos on a street tuner? 2) If so what turbo (setup etc) Superzilla, GT-35R? 3) I had an AP on my 03, now I have an STi! Would you guys suggest me to get the AP + ST? I want to tune, but I also want to go with a big turbo and I could benifit from seeing other peoples maps. I used someone elses UTEC map for homework, the AP is more like a ECUTek reflash with tuning like a UTEC with the ST. 4) Any shops with professional tuners tuning the ST? Thanks E |

| Amateur STI Driver | From what I have been reading you should be able to tune the ST with any setup, I think one day it could be better than UTEC. Kingpin is looking into it, if Clark from Kingpin can harness it's power it is golden! There are some nice features. I think I read something about an auto MAF setting for tuning! Anyone use this? Thanks E |

| The Next Petter Solberg | A professional tuner could use ST to tune your car, and from there you could continue tweaking it if you needed to or is you make some new mods. ProTuner from Cobb is similar to StreetTuner except that it can produce "locked" maps that can't be edited by someone with ST, though the maps will run on ST. ProTuner maps can also be run on a regular AP I think. So if you find someone that can do ProTuner, you might just want to by AP instead of SP. |

| Amateur STI Driver | I think if someone did tune with pro tuner I would def stay with AP. I just do not know of any around here (Ft Walton Bch, Fl). I have to drive to Jaxville for UTEC tuner, I wonder if they can tune the street tuner if need be. You think most tuners can tune the ST? Thanks This ad is not endorsed by this member.
