Default 05 sti wont go into "test mode"

this happened after trying to use street tuner to upload a new base map. the ap got to about 39% then reset. since test mode worked fine at first i assume the ecu is not doing its thing? ap wont connect to the ecu anymore. i have tried hard reset and i am charging the battery now. cranks fine, which is good (i know the new turbo is properly lubed).

i have read the similar threads at nasioc and cobb.

i have the ver 1 ap. i switched to this after using utec for a year, and have had the ap w/st for over a year now.

the question. does anyone know of a way to fix this without sending to cobb?

Does the car start up? if not you have a locked ecu.

after another hard reset, and letting the battery charge for a couple of hours i tried again. no test mode, fuel pump would come on, and the weirdest thing i noticed was the key chime would stop with the door open.

so... as per manual with me outside of vehicle, doors closed, turned ignition to "on". walbro humms. plug in ap. ap starts up. i go to load base map, select it, and it works. flash complete, i turn off ignition, then on. test mode works again. turn car off and disconnect test connector, then attempt to start. starts right up.

turbo break in and tune here we go.

jsut a little glitch, i guess? thanks bluedemon II, i think that is what it was. dont know what fixed it.
