Default Fuel economy setting

sti fans i love my sti but can not afford to drive untill i found about the cobb tuning for the ECU. The reading is about 23mpg at the least and 33 at the most for a long runs with the wind at my back on a open flat land strech. Much better than the 15-21mpg with out the cobb. I do also a qtep downpipe and a borla turbo exhaust with new NGK spark plugs so i hope that helps with the gas miles. If an one has better gas miles with there sti please do share. I have not yet tested the sti with the 93 octane fuel that the sti manual calls for just the 91 octane at the pump. oh yeah i am glad to see that the cobb is going to pay for its self what a great mod.

in my experience with the AP "economy" mode, prepare to be underwhelmed and disappointed. You're better off just staying out of boost and driving 60mph on the highway. IMHO none of the mods you've done will net you an appreciable increase in mileage unless your plugs were bad to begin with. Why two posts on the same thing?

Having just made a trip using the fuel economy mode, I can say it sucks. I was throwing codes every 80 miles and only got 22mpg using a very light foot. For the return trip, I ran the stage 2 93 octane map and got 24mpg with no problems. Both runs were with A/C on.

Is this OTS stage 2 map or are you protuned??? I am wondering if the accessport will help my gas mileage. I can only achieve a little more than 20 stock. Keep in mind I am in AZ and can only run 91.

I believe the ECON map is a stock map with the boost tables zero'd out. If you have street tuner you may want to try using the map you normally run and zeroing out the boost tables.

i just did a trip on economy mode and it worked great. car was fully loaded and my combined tanks were between 24 and 28 depending on how much was highway. around town on the normal stage 2 map i can get close 24 if i drove smart.
