IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | get a tactrix cable... use your buddies ap to flash the cobb map you want onto your car then copy it with the tactrix cable. then you should be able to give him the ap back and use the tactrix cable to put the cobb map back on your ecu. I've never done this so correct me if this won't work... Last edited by 07STILimited; 05-25-2008 at 05:18 PM. |

You might want to put at the end of your post that you're not liable when he tries this and fuks up his ECU. OP: Bad idea, buy a used v1 for $230 bucks. You could try that terrible idea and maybe save $200 bucks or maybe buy a new ecu. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I don't get what's so wrong with what I said. I talked to someone who had done it. Their friend unmarried his AP, let him borrow it, then he used the cable to copy the cobb map from the car after flashing it with the AP. Then he unmarried the AP and put the cobb map back on his car with a laptop. Like I said... I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS AND COULD BE WRONG. What is the danger in this anyway? |

However, i've been told that the older V1's did not "lock out" the ECU, allowing you to copy maps. Technically, this could be stealing Cobb's services becaues their system is explecitly designed to prevent this from happening. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Ummm...yea, dude, you should just do all this random potentially damaging stuff to your engine that I've never done, but have heard that a friend of mine did with a friend of his and it worked for them. What is the danger in this anyway? Funny stuff... This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
