I'm about to purchase and install a cobb stage I 93 oct. map on my stock 07 STI...will I notice any difference in power? It says 330 hp and 340 torque....true?? Thanks in advance for any help..

Those numbers you show are crank horsepower and torque. Stage 1 will improve the HP & TQ...and drivability. A step in the right direction.

Yes. You will notice it. Barely, but yes....

WIth an 07, you'll notice a huge improvement in driveability. THe turbo will spool much faster and the car will be smoother in general. This is definately a wothwhile mod.

I believe perrin offers up-scaled vesions of cobb ots maps. For $180, you can get a perrin tuned stage 1 cobb map that supposedly adds more whp and torque than regular. When you guys say smoother drivability, are you talking about not suddenly getting sucked back in your seat at 4k? Like gradual power from low rpm's untill high?

I read mixed stuff about stage 1...some people say "wow!", others are like "eh".

Dude when i get my ap in a couple of weeks i better notice something cause i'm gonna be peeved if stage 1 wasn't worth the $695.00. I've been seiked about this gadget since i got the car.

That 695 isn't just buying you Stage 1. It's also Stage 2, and the means to get a Protune. Not to mention the ability to switch between multiple maps, pull codes, and get realtime data for spot checks.

Did this about two weeks ago. It definitely runs a whole hell of a lot better. So much smoother than stock its ridiculous. I still am baffled at why Subaru couldn't do this. As far as power its a noticeable gain but its not like OMG i blew my load like some people are saying. The AP also makes the car run safer air/fuel ratios then the stock tune improving the longevity of your engine. Stage 2 on the car is a whole nother beast. A protune is another beast above that. With a safer smoother car, stage 1, stage 2 and the means for a protune, this thing is definitely worth every penny. Plus there is all sorts of other cool stuff on the AP that i havent even played with yet. You'll be happy in the long run that you bought it.

Well I still haven't had daylight time to install stage I yet, hopefully on Thursday i can get out of work early enough to do it then....but I am definitely optimistic since I've read these replies....thanks fellas!!!

IMO...I liked gabedude's free map using a Tactrix cable better then Cobb's 1.03 map. I am contemplating going back to gabedude's map. There are still issues with Cobb's 1.03 map and there is a thread on the Cobb forums that they haven't replied to in a month about as to if there is going to be an update to 1.03 for MY07 STIs.

I would say to hold off on Cobb unless you are going Protune for stage2. Let's see Cobb prove their worth to us current customers.
