Default Scammers & Bad sellers

post your scam-related stories/threads here. this will help to warn potential buyers/sellers from getting involved with bad sellers.

this is not to be a flame-fest - just a short story (and a link to the classified ad if available) will suffice.

Hey everyone I got a raw deal from this guy his names Roy Auto and truck leasing Co. in portland, Or , he said the car was a "10" as in mint and had 4950 orig. miles. He sent pics and I wanted to buy it I wasted $600 on flights and the car was a wreck it was bagged out and was hit really bad and looks like a 3 yr old did the bondo job and a blind man resprayed it. STAY FROM THIS STI AND ANYTHING ELSE THIS CHUMP IS SELLING, this clown should not be selling vehicles to nice people.

oh i forgot her is the ad its in the trader to 2004 Subaru Impreza STI

I'm in PDX and I've never heard of whatever company was trying to sell that STI to you. If you need someone to check one out in this area let me know. Also, you may want to give PDX tuning a call and speak with Jarred, nearly any STI worth anything passes through this shop at some point AND they probably know of a few people looking to sell.

hey, i just thought i would share my story with a guy in TN trying to sell an 04 blk/g sti with 36k miles. heres the links: cars.com and ebay
cars.com: 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX Sti ;
eBay Motors: Subaru : Impreza (item 110235316478 end time Mar-26-08 14:31:08 PDT)

Went to look at the car, it smelled like cigs and had lots of scratches. Engine looked like it had been worked on/once modded, and possibly sitting in the rain without a hood. When i asked him about the body work he told me only a door was replaced. Work invoice in glovebox stated over 4k in parts and that the car had 63k miles at the time of repair. Would have been nice to know before i wasted a whole day. I think he should lower his price, but wait... thats what honest people do.
