Default 2005 CGM STi in NC. 4,950 miles. Extended Warranty

2005 Crystal Grey Metallic STi
5,020 miles. Factory security system, short-throw shifter, and autodimming rearview.
Completely stock (always has been) powertrain wise.
Has mild tint and rallyarmor flaps (only things I've done to it).
The car has the Gold Premium Added Security Plan that covers everything until November 2009 or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is fully transferrable ($35 to do so).

$26,500 firm

I'm selling it because I am too ANAL about it. It has never been driven in the rain/snow/salt/etc. Always garaged. The interior is spotless, and I always drive it with a towel covering the seat. I know it's just a car, but I can't seem to shake it. I'm constantly worried when I drive it...so I'm going to sell it. The car hasn't a single scratch, scuff, or ding (never parked in a parking lot). I just drive it every so often to get it up to operating temp...keeps the battery up and fluids flushed. It just sits in my garage while I drive a 1994 Ford escort with 170k miles (4 door, hubcaps, etc.). I've decided I'm not going to buy a car and not drive it again, like I have my last cars (sold my vette with 6300 miles, my RT with 3800, my 1987 starion with 26k, etc. etc.).

Anyway, enough of me talking myself into selling it. I will attach some pics, but you can see more here

If you don't like the looks of the '06s or the '08s, this is the closest you will find to a new 2005.

Post questions and I will reply as soon as possible. Private inquiries can be made here.

Car is still for sale. Price is firm. Come look at the car and you will see why!!

Apparently you and I were separated at birth.

I have a 2005 CGM that had 5,966 miles on it when I left the garage this morning. It has been stored in my garage under a car cover for the last 4 months.

Remarkably, I have royal blue towels covering the seat inserts and the floor mats.

In the meantime, I've been driving my daughter's 1999 Audi A4 that she no longer needed after moving to NYC.

I hated taking the cover off the car this morning, but at the same time it's nice to drive the STi again.

Of course, it'll be back to the Audi on Monday.

Default Good luck with the sale my friend,

I sold mine for the same reason, I had barely 5,200 on mine. I did get a good deal on mine when I sold to Carmax, if thats an option for you

Actually, if I were giving someone advice (including myself), I'd tell them to buy a car they like and drive the darn thing. There's simply nothing to be gained by buying a vehicle and then parking it in the garage. In most instances it's not going to appreciate in value. Instead it's going to depreciate in the near-term even though the miles are not adding up. Add to that the cost of insuring and licensing the vehicle each year and it's easy to see why having a car you don't drive is a money-losing proposition.

For me, I'd select a vehicle that met my needs (sporty, high-performance, fun-to-drive, good aesthetics, good safety features, reliable and practical) and I'd try to maximize my use of it. I'd seriously consider selling the older car and focus my attention on extracting maximum enjoyment from the STi.

Wow, there are a lot of who have 'garage queens'. I am in the exact position as you. I own a 2005 STi with 14.1K on the odometer. She spends more time under a car cover connected to a battery tender than on the roads. I own a 96 Acura Integra GS-R and choose to drive this if I need to go anywhere where I might have to park. It is such a waste to keep a fine car like this if you aren't going to drive it.

Here is a link to my post.

Best of luck on your sale.

I agree with everything you've said. If I could make myself do it, I would. I just have some type of mental block or something that keeps me from enjoying it like I should. This is exactly why it is for sale....

If things go as planned, I will buy back a newish used vehicle that suits my needs and is at ~90% condition. It's losing that first 10% that kills me so.

Best of luck with the sale.

You might want to consider doing yourself a favor and drive the car for a week before making the final decision to sell it. Take a couple of nice drives and reconnect with the car.

If you decide to sell it, I'm sure the new owner will be very appreciative of the great care that you've taken of the car.

You're selling it because you're too worried about it?

Hmmm...

I don't practice the "A car is just a car" mentality...

I just today bought a 05 CGM STI with 5500 miles. The car came from a person that did exactly what you guys have done, And i'm happy to tell you i will enjoy the hell out of it. I traded my heavily raced and modified 02 and $16,800 for it. That 02 i raced crashed twice and had some of the best times in my life in. I will try to be a little more careful in the 05 but chances are i won't. There really is no point in buying something that someone else will enjoy. Sorry if i upset anyone. Even though it's a special car it's really just a car. You have a beautiful car that i would have bought if i had seen it frist. Should be an easy sell.
