I am the original owner of this car, she was my pride and joy when I owned her and I wish I could have kept it.

I have nothing to lose here, so I'm going to be 100% honest. This car was babied from the day I got it to the day I sold it. I regret that I didn't push the car to it's full pontential while I had it.

Chris, who's one of my good friends bought this car after he sold his Toyota Supra. Like myself he maintained this car to the highest standards.

Bump for a great guy, I hope this car goes to a new owner who will continue to take care of it.

Wow I can't believe your selling it.

I'm the guy Kevin bought the car from and I can attest to the fact that he is very anal about the car and doing things correctly, as were Lincoln and I.

Don't let the fact the car has had 3 owners fool you, The car is perfect. I sold the car because I had a baby (well my wife did) and I was tired of the whole car scene and needed a break.

Good luck to the new owner you won't be disappointed.

I appreciate the compliments Lincoln . I wish I could have seen Chris' supra in person!

I know - I can't believe it either. My pops gave me a call the other day because he heard I was selling it, and he mentioned that he might consider letting me put the car on his insurance, which would mean I could probably keep it since it would be much less expensive. Unless that happens though, I've got to get rid of it - Geico really screwed me over this renewal period because of my accident in the Evo before I had this STi. Their underwriting department reviewed my renewal and decided to increase my premium due to the accident, which really sucks. But I guess this is life.

You guys posting in my thread is making me really sad that I have to sell it - it really sucks. Mainly because 6 or 12 months down the road when I can afford the insurance again, I'll probably never be able to find another STi like this one - it has so much character and such a good history with awesome owners. Lincoln and Chris, you guys rock.

Bump for the late morning people!

Find a buyer for my S60R and I'll be all over this Kevin!

Really is a fine example of a tasefully modded STI. I want it.

if i had waited....i would definetly get her...i cant believe nobody has jumped on this...with that price the future owner would realize that you have saved him money on some of the mods you have already done

Put that S60R on the market! Come to think of it, I saw an S60R on the road today, the color was blue and looked alot like Mitsu's "electric blue" on the Evos. It was a really nice looking car, and definitely a sleeper - only a sharp-eyed enthusiast that sees the red "R" badging would know its a monster.

Indeed. The market this car falls into is probably the most desirable, since the mods don't add direct value to the car, and the mods are well and tastefully done, which is a win win situation for the buyer.

Guys, the compliments are awesome, I really appreciate it.

You would have loved it... I still wish I would have kept it.

Why not park it for the winter? I doubt you will drive it much in the winter anyway and you can lower the insurance to comprehensive (non driving), the car will still covered for damage, theft, etc and then in March you can re-assess your situation and maybe keep it.

Every time I store a car I drop the full collision coverage and just insure it for everything else (theft, fire, garage collapse, etc)

Whatever you decide to do good luck.

That is definitely true. I'll run a quote and see if that is a good option for saving some on the premium. Thanks for the idea, heh - never thought of it that way.

EDIT: I believe my credit union requires me to keep full coverage on the car regardless of whether it's being driven or not. So if I removed collision coverage for the time being, my credit union would likely yell at me. :-(

EDIT 2: btw Chris your baby Taylor is MEGA cute! I saw the pics on vtg35. Congrats dude thats awesome.

It is still considered full coverage for the purposes of the credit union, so if something happens to it they will still get paid... you just can't drive it. Your credit union will be fine with it.

Give me a call tonight if you want I can talk more about it.

Thanks... it's amazing how much she has changed me.

I have been so busy lately that the site barely works right now, all the links are broken... hopefully I can get some time to rebuild it soon.

And since you brought her up I'm going to hijack your thread and post a couple pics .... let me know if you want me to remove them

That's very true about the sleeper looks. In fact, it's one of the reasons why I bought it. I really do love the car, but I also love the raw feel and appeal of the STI. If I know what's good for me, I'll keep the R and buy an STI in a couple years when the R is payed for. In the meantime, I can get another 50hp or so out of the car with a dp and ECU upgrade.

I think you should keep the car if you can. I don't know what your situation looks like, but I can tell you from experience that you will regret it later. Look into other insurance companies as well. I had high quotes from Geico and Progessive in the past and ended up with a great quote from Esurance. I haven't changed since.

Chris - Congrats on the new addition. My wife and I will be new parents in a few months. We can't wait.

Gah! She's INSANELY cute! Makes me want to have one of my own with my girl - but I think I'll wait awhile, lol. Haha thanks for the pictures Chris, you goof. lol, maybe it will help sell the car since it will give this thread a good, down-home, cozy feeling of happiness and love - which will make people more inclined to buy my car. ;-)

or.... not. lol.

bump!

Esurance did indeed quote me about $300 less than Geico for the STi, but that isn't quite enough to make it affordable. I wish it was cheaper, but alas its not for the time being. The last hope for now is to throw the car on my pop's insurance, but that probably won't happen.
